Buying my daughter a gun for her 21st birthday, It will be her carry gun. I have narrowed the selection down to a couple, and my daughter shoots a Walther P22 pretty good, the size and fit suit her well. I'm unable to find a local range with a Ok380 in the rental lots. I've searched on here and read the previous threads. Anyone have any newer info? Personal opinions?

My wife has one, as do several other members' wives. In fact, my missus started with a P22, stepped up to a PK380 & then finally a CCP. Soft shooting guns with ergos that fit those with small mitts very well.

My only advice/personal opinion only, is to have her with you trying a bunch of guns out. I would introduce her to as many calibers and mechanicals as you can - revolver, semi-auto, etc, etc, etc. Have HER identify what she likes and shoots best, then buy it for her along with a whole lot of practice ammo and a years supply of range passes.

Whst jfanatic said. Have her hold em and make the decision about what to get.

Does the PK380 still need a takedown tool to disassemble? Bought one four or five years ago and it did, but I dont know if they still do.
Anyway, if she ends up with one, go ahead and buy the cheap 5 pack of valve stem removers off Amazon. Its cheap, something like 4 bucks, but they are the exact size to replace the takedown tool that will almost certainly end up being misplaced.
Dont ask me how I know lol.
Now, Ive got one in the cleaning kit, the range bag, the box the gun came in, etc.

already have done this(LCP, BG, TCP, PPK, 442, SR22, SP101, P22, G19, XDS9, P11, and a couple more that I probably forgot about), and we ended up with the P22 as her favorite, i would prefer her to have something with more punch than a 22, however, I'd rather her have the ability to shoot 10 22lr on target under duress that 5 38spl with no control( tried the air weight, didn't go so well). I would love for her to try a PK380 before ordering one, but with inventory low right now, I may need to take the chance on ordering one.
