WandaVision

Lol. That recast though. 😄

Definitely hang in there if you can. It gets better. I'm glad I did.

I haven't watched any episodes in my ongoing rebellion against Disney's current spate of seasons with ridiculously few episodes. I'll pick up when some of the other shows start up and are nearing completion of their first (short) seasons.

Anyway, I believe Disney is playing up on the Scarlet Witch's ability to warp reality with her powers (originally ill defined "hex powers" which allowed the writers to give her any powers they wished based on plot needs).. The comic world has a wonderful way of simply creating new plot twists to suit whatever they wish, and I firmly believe Stan Lee finally ingrained this into the Hollywood productions of the MCU. Which is why all the Marvel movies have become such big hits: they're not attempting to "copy" characters and their stories straight from the comic books themselves.

Consider, for example, that "Avengers: Infinity War" does NOT, in fact, reflect the Marvel comic series "The Infinity War". It more closely reflects the prior comic series "The Infinity Gauntlet", with "The Infinity War" taking place afterwards where Thanos was actually a good guy.

In the comics, Wanda once created an alternate "happily ever after" reality. WandaVision could be the MCU's setup for just this thing, with their own plot twist as to it's creation and final outcome.

Wanda's powers, the origin of her powers, and indeed her own biological origins are extremely convoluted in the comics. This will allow producers to literally make any Scarlet Witch (and by association Vision) character development they wish.

One thing's for sure....they'll keep us guessing right up until the "big reveal".

I just binged this show. The first half of the episodes is a WTF is going on. The second half was really getting interesting and the finally was great.

You mean Ep8? Because there’s another one coming next week...

that's really strange because there were only supposed to be 6 episodes.
8 was a nice surprise
i thought they were just going to leave us on a cliffhanger

9 episodes. The last one (3/5) is supposed to be a little longer. The next week (3/12) will be a behind-the-scenes special. No second season. But somehow it’s a lead-in to Dr. Strange 2.

The following week (3/19) will be the premiere of Falcon & Winter Soldier...which is supposed to follow Avengers: Endgame as far as the timeline goes. Probably have a new thread on that if it doesn’t already exist. (I’ll go look)

Based on the 6 hour per season/series, and using the listed times on D+, there are 68 minutes left...so an hour long finale isn’t out of the question.

Does anybody else get glitching/buffering while watching this show? Seems to happen with everything we watch on D+. Same Firestick doesn’t have the issues with any other app. Plenty of bandwidth here at the house.

Watched it on the D+ website on my laptop today at work during lunch. No issues with buffering or anything else.

We have a 1st gen firestick and can get glitchy. We start it, pause it, let it buffer, then start it back up. Usually works fine after that.

so they've pretty seriously hinted at her working with dr strange, possibly becoming a big bad (but they'd have to bring in the FOX mutant universe if they want to do house of m). Looks like spectrum will be going up with the skrulls. Vision will have to have his identity quest somewhere...

As for the buffering use my phone. And download it on wifi prior to watching so there is no buffering problems. Not sure if that is a option for roku/firestick or whatever you are using

She could be going to see NF not other skrulls

Just Watched the finale. It will be interesting to see how this show sets up the phase 4 of the MCU. Not being a fan of comics, I have no idea where this is heading. The only take aways I got from this show is that it was confirmed that Wanda could have killed Thanos and that she is more powerful than Dr Strange.

well they did say she had more powerful than the sorcerer supreme...
but yeah, she has the power to rewrite the universe. she just doesn't know it. I had stopped reading the comics by the time she developed that level of ability, so i'm not an expert.

I do think the finale was kinda meh compared to the previous several episodes. Definitely interested in seeing how the next Dr Strange movie continues the story.

Never seen it, is it on Prime or Netflix? I don't have cable or satellite TV, even to far out to get antenna channels!

I saw your post and actually yelled “F—k yeah!” out loud. That series was excellent and my wife enjoyed it too.

After episode 5 she started watching Marvel movies and watched nine of them with me.

Then we went back to Wanda and started from the beginning. It made so much more sense.
Sounds like it’ll be more than just tomorrow’s episode:

Since it's Friday, I just wanted to b***h that this d****d thread catches my eye "every time" and I always think WONKAVISION and then have a letdown that I'm not going to the Chocolate Factory or see the Oompa Loompas.

There, I feel better now. Please continue with your regularly scheduled thread. :)
