Yeahhhh.....

Now, there are good guys in the Teams. My BFF was a SEAL (now retired), I think @Derek8404 brother is a SEAL. There some studs. But that community has a problem. Their monetization on the backs of those who have died, the politics, the bad apples who have committed crimes and atrocities, they should be called out.

Yup, he is…

Can we get the cliff notes version of this, I’m certainly not watching an Hr long video.

I’ve a friend, 20+ years, retired E9 Ranger, was telling me he’d work with Devru, they were the real deal. Other than that he did everything he could to not work with seals. Most of them were hung ho, young, without combat experience. He did not want to lose any of his guys due to someone else’s immortal immaturity.

The guy in the video is retired SF, interviewing a retired SEAL who is calling out Jocko Willink, task force bruiser, and some others for bad leadership and getting people killed. Is also calling out the naval special warfare protective association, guys covering for other guys, and allowing the turds to rise to the surface.

Well that helps a little for me to understand the rant.

I know your a navy guy but I never thought people hate Navy Seals. I will try to watch this video later. For 10 to 15 minutes he is all over the place and I think he is a wee bit high.

Sorry, I may have passed out a bit for rolling my eyes too far back into my head…😂😂 I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume you’re not or haven’t ever been in the Military…

Listen, Inter-Service rivalry is a thing, I can’t tell you how many stories I’ve heard from the opposite prospective, or Marine’s saying their the equivalent of Army Rangers… or Soldiers saying their won’t work with Marines, yada, yada yada.. I’m not sure if your buddy was an actual Ranger with the regiment or just a soldier who had a tab, but I assure you, regardless of what he said, it wasn’t up to him who he worked with..

Buddy, I’m not sure what the hate for SEALs is all about, but there isn’t this widespread hatred you speak of. Fact is if there is ANY negative SEAL stuff on the forum it’s from you…

EVERY. SINGLE branch has their issues.. all of them, period. The Teams have gotten some bad publicity lately because, honestly a few dudes couldn’t be quiet professionals and put them in the spotlight. So the whole country got a SEAL boner for good or for worse and they were in the news for anything, but it is what it is.

They have great leadership and also garbage leadership…*spoiler alert*. …same as everyone else…. Let’s not fall into these click bait YouTube channel traps who have a subscriber quota to meet…

And if you need an example of “shitty leadership”
Getting people killed, let’s take a look at Tonga Tonga…

I don't disagree with most of what you said. I will say this though, I am only critical when it's deserved, and then I am fairly critical. I don't harbor any animus any singular unit or group.

This is interesting to me. The closest I've ever been to the military was sitting in the audience of a "Patriot Tour" show about 10 years ago in Charlotte.

I got to hear Marcus Luttrell, David Goggins, Taya Kyle and a few others I can't remember, tell military stories. I really enjoyed it and learned a few things.

I've also occupied a few hours of my time watching podcasts with several military guys. In my opinion, social media has done more harm than good to the "image" of previously respected "war heros."

Again, I'm just a Civi watching videos on the innernets but thats what I've noticed...

Fair enough, but let’s agree…or agree to disagree, that all units have their fair share of things to be “critical” of.

I think anyone in the “know” would agree that those 2 are a couple of the biggest douches in the community….

I’ve not been in .mil.
Yes he was a E9 ranger that led teams. For years I was the guy his wife called when something was broken when he was deployed. Most of the Seals he ran across were green compared to his combat experience. He mentioned a couple units he was happy to work with, Devru’s the only one I remember.

Ain’t nobody never said nuthin’ bad about Seabees. And we’re as special a force as you’ll ever see.

No SEAL or Ranger ever stole a train full of beer in the middle of an amphibious landing / combat zone.

Professional jealousy is real, most of the 'special needs team's ' individuals have a hard time adjusting to the real world.

I am not sure why someone would think that after 14 years it's now time to come out and attack someone else's career.

Hard truth. No one else built me a floor, got me a generator with AC and a fridge with beer at 29 Palms, either.

This is not new for the guy in the video, he's been trying to expose some personalities and issues for years.

I don't think there is any "hate" for the SEALS by the populous. More like respect. Me thinks Chuckman has an axe to grind. Now i will say ego driven hard charging A personality types are probably dicks to people who are not what they are. It's earned ego though. So i give them a pass. You need those guys to go scale a boat with frickin' hook and ladder at 3 am in rough seas to take out hostile armed terrorists.

There is something about the Navy's Spec Ops that attracts the hair gel "GQ" manly men versus the quiet professionals from the Army's spec ops side.

See post 10. There are reasons I have issues, with some of them. See post 1. My best friend was a SEAL, and I have worked with them. As a community at-large I've no issue. If you want to trade the Trident for cash, I've no issue. Everyone needs a retirement plan. My issues are bigger, and I don't care what unit or branch it is, I will call out all of the BS.

I don't hear "hatred" for Navy SEALS here at Bragg, but what's real is a certain level of distrust, primarily stemming from the 2017 death of SSG Melgar (3 SFG) in Mali at the hands of SEAL Team 6 members and Marine Raiders...although isolated, it was such a heinous act that it sent shockwaves through the entire JSOC community. It will never be forgotten, and by some can never be forgiven. It's a long road to rebuilding reputations and trust in the community.
