I made the decision that I am going to get a bow and stager back into archery season this year(2022 hunting season). My oldest is aware of this and asked Santa for a bow, so I got one from @redhawk485 . The last two days we have probably spent 5+ hours shooting his bow. He is hooked. We’re only shooting about 10-15 yards right now, looks like I need to hurry up and get one.

Nice. BTW, this is a rabbit hole as deep as you want to dive.

One of the best things you can do is instill good habits that you don't have to break later. Check this out for his grip. Does not look terrible, but this is worth a watch.

And his draw length is too short and is keeping him out of a more solid draw form. If the bow is adjustable it's worth a look. Draw length is like LOP in a long gun. The better it fits the more natural it feels. The short DL is also making him open up on his stance instead of square up.
 
And it's hard to see from the angle but his hand looks too far from his face to be able to aquire a consistent anchor point.

That's the draw length and another issue with it. Keeps the hand off the face, keeps the elbow out, cannot lock the back, keeps the body open.
