First off, I'm no expert at all, when it comes to firearms. Either they work, or they don't. Either I can hit my target with it, or I can't. All that other stuff, I leave to the real experts. I simply enjoy the chase and getting to shoot on occasion. But I digress.

Full disclosure, I only shot one mag through it, but I was very impressed with this gun. It shot where I aimed and the trigger was (to me) phenomenal! Almost no take up and I'm guessing less than 5#. Seems to be a very short reset, as well. I'll admit that I was not ready for this and (rake me over the coals, if you must) had a NG on my 3rd round. Meaning, I shot once to put a hole in a blank canvas, but was going to aim at it for subsequent shots.

I went to squeeze off round two, but round three decided not to wait. Both were on the paper, but I definitely slowed down to really get a feel for the trigger.

I had paid much less than $200 for this gun with the box and six mags, and I'll say so far, it's worth every penny.

They are nice, especially for the price. I was surprised by how much I like it. The Star BM is my daughters 2nd favorite pistol to shoot, she only likes my Beretta 81 better.

One downside is the price and lack of availability of magazines. I buy them when I find them sub-$30, which isn’t often. I’ve stocked up on spare small parts as I imagine they will become less easily found since there really isn’t much/any aftermarket support

I shot a friend’s Star BM many years ago and was soundly impressed with it as well. Gratz to ya!

Good worker.

A friend used to have a Star PD in .45ACP and loved it.

I had a PD in .45 and it was great.
The Achilles heel of that little pistola was the buffers. They were a little hard to find. Mine needed a new one and when I slapped a new buffer in it and it ran like a new one.
It was a nice, light little Officer’s sized carry piece.

Stars are great guns. You got extra mags so you're all set.

I owned a LOTTA Firestars (9mm, .40, &.45) in the early '90's - they were all great shooters, but I sold them along the way.

Got my current one (blued) here in PA around '06. Decided to get it cerakoted in '19, as some minor rust KEPT showing up on the surface (truck gun - Pittsburgh winters - YOU do the math!).

It's burnt orange, which is nominally dark and dull (matte), but with a flash bulb - I'm the man with the GOLDEN gun!

These always struck as being rad, and the gold takes that up a notch for sure.

Pimpy. I like it. 😁

I had one just like that many moons ago. Sold it to a friend and he lost it when his house was broken into about a year later. Good gun.

So, you got a great deal on the mags and the gun was free....
