What are you playing tonight? (Video games)

Need to get back on DCS... I forgot how to fly the two planes I own. Need a refresher before the holiday freebies hit (they usually do a bunch of free-to-fly planes during December and thats great for figuring out what you want to commit to).

Been playing BeamNG a lot with my son... thats a lot of fun too. Not really a racing game but great if you love cars.

Have had ARK Survival for years and always come up with something new to try. Great fun if you like survival sandbox games and dinosaurs/guns.

A bunch of other stuff I bought but havent played much. Star Wars Squadrons for example. A bunch of old classic games I played the crap out of years ago (Quake 3, Unreal).

BF3 was better lol
You ain't quite wrong. BC2 is still possibly my favorite of all time followed by 4. I've got more time in 4 than Bc2 at this point I think. Messed around 2042 playing a portal gunmaster server tonight and it was a ton of fun

Only game Ive played in a while is a phone game, Real Racing 3

I picked up the google stadia controller with a new chromecast on the $20 deal
they forced me to subscribe to the pro-program just as part of setting up.
i immediately went into my subscriptions and canceled with some vulgar comments as my reason for quitting

i just wanted the controller to plug into my phone so i could play mobile xbox

Far Cry 6 just downloaded yesterday to PS4 pro. I'll start working on it between calls on Monday. Far Cry 5 was the first one I played in the series, wasn't sure I wanted to try the next installment, but cooler weather means more inside time so finding this on sale was enough for me to give it a go.

I liked far cry 3. I think I had far cry 4 and played the 45 year old Romanian dude but I lost the CD.

Pirates in FF 3 keep saying, “burns like a mother when I piss. Should have used a rubber”.

what’s out there that is fps with solo campaigns

i’ve done all borderlands, farcry, skyrim, rdr2

anything else i should try?

xbox one

The Metro games are all really cool. You could prob get Metro 2033 Redux or Metro Last Light for super cheap. Metro Exodus prob be sub $15 as well. I really like them a lot, and they have a solid story unlike a lot of the more popular AAA FPS games.

Edit: Also, if you've never played TItanfall 2, do that one for sure. Super cheap and awesome campaign. Should be $5 or so.

got a xbox series x coming saturday. Looking forward to gaming a bit after being out of the game for about 5 years.

Forza looks promising. BF 2042 looks fun too. Maybe gears, but gameplay on line looks kinda rough on that one.

I just got Guardians of the Galaxy. It's kind of fun so far.

Has anyone else checked out Escape from Tarkov? With all the weapon accessories in it, I figure it might be popular with this crowd.

Still playing Boom Beach. Also got a 50 person task force that hits ops daily in BB

Been going back and forth between Hearts of Iron IV and Empyrion Galactic Survival. Scratch my two nerd itches, history and Sci-fi.

Tonight, I'll be playing the mind-challenging adventures of Fortnite.

I do daily quests in Fallout 76 most days. PM me if you want to try it on the PC and I'll give you newb gear.

Perfect game if you like the old Fallout games and simulating war crimes.

I enjoyed playing HOI4 in co-op with my stepson. Probably the most fun was my taking Iran and him Turkey and forming our own faction.

Son (15) is living and breathing Forza Horizons 5 for the last couple weeks.

I rarely play anything, but I’m kinda excited about this one:

I really enjoy the Lego games. They adapt from the movies quite well.
Preordered the Deluxe Edition last night.

I've been playing a lot of Aliens Fireteam lately. It's a weird Left for Dead (pacing, levels, ai created story) and The Division (classes/gunplay).

And you can actually feel your guy getting more badass as you progress. I'm rank VI on my main and I solo levels (with mandatory not teammates) that used to take a whole team and we struggled when I started.

I have it. It’s actually overwhelming with all the options. And it’s a pretty difficult game if you aren’t super kitted out. It is pretty realistic and fun if you don’t get frustrated easily.

Heading upstairs to play this one now!

Looks awesome on the 70” 4K!!

And yes, I’ve painted the wall behind the TV black…it looks like this when I zoom out:

Is that the new Lego Star Wars saga that just launched. My wife and kids love those games; I played the last Star Wars with my son and it was really fun. I wouldn't enjoy it by myself but it's fun with them.

Edit: NVM, I saw your previous post. Hope you enjoy it! I'm sure I'll be getting it eventually.

I've been playing Wolfenstein: Old Blood on Gamepass for PC. Played 1 & 2 so this is cool.

It’s realistic and unforgiving, which makes it challenging and fun. Being kitted out with the best armor and weapons doesn’t automatically mean you win every fight. It’s all about surprise and getting the drop on someone first. I’ve killed high level PMC’s as a lowly scav before, catching them mid reload or healing, or a lucky head shot.

It gives you the option of starting with Episode I, IV or VII. We decided to go in the order they were released, and finished up A New Hope last night.

Son (15) says it’s way better than the other LEGO games for him. All kinds of side mission stuff to do. I think he said he read it was at least 90 hours of gameplay to finish it.

Playing some Elden Ring. Great game. Funny review...

I had to dig out an old Linux laptop to clone a thumbdrive. Found my old Steam install of Quake TF loaded on it. Been playing the crap out of that.
Saw the picture before reading your statement and started thinking it was a version of Doom.

The graphics in that picture, though, make me feel nostalgic for some of the old games I played back in the 386/486 and the original 586 era of PCs.

Yeah, that image was the original. This image is more of what's available with the Steam engine.
