I've been on vacation last week and this week. One of the things my wife and I like to do is go to our favorite used book stores and see what's been traded in.
Well I found quite a few different books I'd been looking for, some of which were the original Ian Fleming 007 novels.
I'd read all of them back in the late 70's and 80's, except the first novel, "Casino Royale" so while I've been on vacation, I started re-reading Fleming's classics. I finished Casino Royale and really liked it, it's not high art, just good solid pulp spy fiction. I then read the Bond short stories; "Octopussy", "The Living Daylights" and "Property of a Lady".
For a change of pace, last night, I started another I'd just found, "The Butcher's Boy" by Thomas Perry. I'd read his excellent, "Sleeping Dogs" (a sequel to The Butcher's Boy) back in the early 90's, but had never read the original. So as luck would have it, I found it the other day and am finding it an excellent read.....
So, what are you currently reading?
