Changed the oil in the 6.0 this evening. 3.5 gallons of mobile delvac and a bottle of archoil.

I did a few things today . A couple of them in the garage. One of them I used the chainsaw from the garage, so I think it counts.

Before.

The biggest of the three trunks was about 18”
I loved takin that tree down. Hate the leaves and the stupid berries, PLUS
It burns wonderfully.

Then I built an extension table for the bandsaw. The kids gave me a couple Oaks and a hickory trees they had cut down in their backyard. I’m slicing them up to use for furniture next year.
Sorry, no picture.

Then, I had this garage light that quit working. So I had to investigate what was wrong.

It’s supposed to look like this one.

Yesterday, I added a qt of oil to my wife's car, which surprised me. Factory recommends 10K mile OCIs with a PAO synthetic oil. She's right around 6500 miles on this oil.
We switched from the factory Castrol 0W40 to Mobil 1 0W40 euro formula. One of a few that meets the VW 502 00 and 503 00 standards.
Only other difference is I used a purolator filter instead of the VW one.

So I think I'm gonna dump M1 in this car, which is a shame because it was a pretty good bargain in 5qt jugs.

Changed my daughters oil in her 2005 Accord. 7000 miles on Pennzoil Platinum 0W20, and it was time. Switched to a syn blend and gonna do 5K mile OCIs from here on out.

Finished the scat-pack challenger, and switched all the way from the proverbial 10th gear to granny low and pulled a 97 f150 in for some love.

Made a box to put overt the cats water bottle. They keep knocking it over.

Finally got turn the key on the 41 Ford to see if it would crank after installing the new wiring harness. Cranked right up and no fire. Still need to put in a fan relay, add grounding strap, and some more wiring in the dash, but at least it runs.

started my workbench.
Got the frame built, but need to get wood for the top of it, as well as a 5/16 drillbit...broke mine in summer and forgot to replace it.
Today I'll paint the frame, white, and get a drill bit so I can put the adjustable feet on it - sometimes concrete floors arent completely level and I screwed up a little and one leg is a little lower than the other three.

Oh well. I'll post up pics as I get them uploaded to imgur.

I tried to get the engine out of the Tahoe. It won't clear with the crank pulley on and my IR impact gun can't budge it.
Anyone near Apex/Sanford with a 600+ ft/lb 1/2" or 3/4" impact gun I can borrow for 1/2 day to get that bugger out?

I can't think of a single non diesel rig I've encountered that took over six. Don't even think my last work truck with the 8.1l chebby did. It's was just interesting.
'03 Ram with HEMI takes 7. And 16 frickin' spark plugs.

Started on a camshaft replacement in my 4runner. Stripped 2 cam cap bolts. So now Im waiting on a helicoil kit to complete reassembly.

Ouch! Why are you replacing the camshafts?

I fixed my wife's iron last night. There was a short in the cord. It's back working properly again!

22re rebuilt about 5k ago by me. It started having a slight miss in it. Ran a leak-down test and the exhaust valve on #1 wasn't closing all the way. Only giving me a little over 100# compression on that cylinder.

The #4 cam lobe was trashed somehow and others had some abnormal wear for only 5k miles. ridges on each side of where the rocker arm rides. I am putting the stock cam back in with new rocker arms it to see if the miss disappears.

1.5 hour job turned into multiple days!

Gotcha. Exhaust valve not closing isn't going to be the camshafts fault though.

You have the head off ? Pull the valve and insure it's not bent. Check for carbon on the sealing surfaces and check for damage to the valve seat.

I haven't pulled the head yet, although it is loose with intake and exhaust still attached. I wanted to try a quick tear-down verification before having to do a whole HG job. It was a new head and camshaft during rebuild and all looked ok at install.

I was scheduled to move some crusher run for a client's garage floor :). The supplier wasn't able to deliver :( so I practiced some welding :) (another thread).

Still practicing... :(:(:(

I don't really have any plans.
She just showed me one with the sliding top on Google and I just worked around the plastic mortar tub measurements.
I can take some more closeup pics if you like.
I'm going to add some dados / tracks to the top rails so the tops slide better, it kinda racks right now while trying to open and close them.

Neighbor had a wheel barrel on the street for trash pickup. Had a flat tire and annoying squeaky. Some air, scotch brite, and grease, it is rolling quietly and holding air. One less thing off of the to buy list for the house.

Why would someone leave $50 on the street....
Great Score for you !

Changed the oil in the six point ohhhhh this week. added the usual 3.5 gallons of oil and a pint of archoil. Got new tires yesterday on it also liking them so far!

HELP Wanted!
I finally tore into the 5.3L Chevy motor with the #3 spun cam bearing.
The bearing's dinged up and won't go over the cam, it's tight in there and all I can figure is find something to cut it with. Any ideas?

Just finished putting in an axle on my Honda foreman. Honda shop sold me the wrong axle last weekend, had to swap it out this morning. Then one of the nuts on the ball joints got an ear bent so had to fix it, it’s been a long day working on that thing.

Helped my friend install his new King/Total Chaos suspension on his 2nd gen Tacoma.
This is a sweet setup!! Waiting on new wheel bearings then we'll be all set.

On way home from Frontline Defense on Thursday my '99 sable was idling rough, shortly I watched the check engine light turn on,
1507 low idle code, installed new IAC and I'm good to go. Used 25% off online coupon Advance Auto Parts, pickup at my local Car Quest.

Any way to straighten the dings?
Nope. But I got it, a friend suggested drilling holes until I could snip it. I started with a small hole in the center, the blasted thing jumped around. Once I got through I stepped up in bit size, a larger bit grabbed and broke it open.

Just swapped out a jewell trigger in my disappointing 22-250 into my new 5R which came with the worst trigger Rem ever produced.
