What do groups really mean

Interesting commentary on what we perceive when discussing our rifles and their "groups".

 
I'm starting to think people's "groups" are the equivalent to fish stories.

I was happy to see that vid. Also unhappy to know some people go through a damn barrel before they get a load dialed in.
I've seen a lot of people burn up half their barrel life chasing groups. It gets addictive during load development. I didn't watch the video but I could probably repeat everything they said. But I will add this... I don't care who you are or how well you shoot. You will never outshoot a properly built and tuned gun. Whatever your group sizes are, it would be even tighter if you take the human element out of it. There is no way that a gun can rest in the exact place as the shot before due to recoil. Cheekwelds can be moved ever so slightly. Heat coming off of the barrel creating mirage in your view. There are a 1000 things that minutely change from shot to shot. Sorry for the rant!
