What do you know about Donuts??

Another vote for vortex in asheville..

I miss voodoo donuts in PDX...especially after boozing it up at a concert downtown and getting a bacon maple bar at 3am...nom nom.

Krispy creme are ok..no really awesome donuts out by me..closest decent ones is Doms bakery in Wilkesboro, but prefer Local Lion in Boone..

Why We Love This
Duke's Heavy Duty Mayonnaise is unlike any other brand's mayonnaise. Egg yolks give the mayonnaise its smooth, creamy texture, while cider vinegar gives Duke's its signature tanginess. Duke's special heavy duty formula is designed for food service applications. Duke's Mayonnaise possesses a fervent cult following of chefs, food writers, and home cooks who swear there's no better mayonnaise out there.
About this item
  • Smooth, creamy texture and one-of-a-kind, tangy flavor
  • Made with Eugenia Duke's original recipe since 1917
  • Delicious on sandwiches, in salads, and even as a key baking ingredient
  • Special heavy duty formula designed to maintain superior taste and texture in large batch applications, great for restaurants and caterers
  • Rich in Omega 3-ALA

C.F. Sauer Co.

'Bout 5 1/2 miles from the house.

One of these days I ought to go there and see if they have tours, then take some pictures and post 'em here so you guys can drool.

Friends of mine helped open a Burney's Sweets & More in downtown Erwin. They make a maple and bacon that's pretty dang good. I ate enough that it prompted me to create this (stolen) Burney's Barbie:

71 posts and I'm the first to correct y'all?!?

Burney's Sweet's & more /thread

While not doughnuts, they are croissants

See above. I beat you to it.

Yes, they are technically croissants. Some say donuts, I say dough-balls.

Lots of good donuts around. I go to the asian one near my barber. A proper donut place does cake or raised well.

I can say now that Ima Dukes guy for sure. As for nanner puddin... just bring it to me. No matter what you put on top.

Baker's Dozen, Cary NC. is the place.
Slaughters anything else around here especially considering the fair pricing.

You'll have to find someone with more will power than I.

They'd never make it to the post office and I'd be found in the parking lot suffering from a diabetic coma that even Wilfred Brimley would be proud of.

I literally laughed out loud on that one.

The apple fritter from Granny's Donuts beats hell out of any donut around, but fresh KK glazed are pretty dang good.

I know you spelled it wrong for starters. It's doughnuts.

NC Jelly Donut has great doughnuts in Burlington on South Church Street.

Daylight Donuts if I'm in Raleigh.

Actually, it was a singular (i.e. ONE) Duck Doughnut. I had earlier eaten myself nearly cross-eyed and then saw the Duck Doughnut place and had to try it. Rather than rupture myself (its just a wafer-thin mint!), I just ate the one! :D

Never tried the new NC Jelly Donut. Do they have regular type doughnuts or just jelly doughnuts? Not a fan of traditional jelly (grape, raspberry, etc) fillings.

They have different types of doughnuts. And wasn't saying that to you specifically, but more so anyone who spells it donut. That shouldn't be pronounced the same as doughnut.

If people are buying them and the business is still working...it's "fair pricing".

You beat me to it. I'll take a good apple fritter any day. Granny's is one of the best I've found so far, just get there early.

The Apple Barn in Sevierville, TN has some mighty fine apple butter and fritters.
