What is a boat load?Today I only purchased 3 targets....as we all know, I bought a boat-load of 9mm the other day, so I tore up those targets with 150 rounds! Good shooting today.....

The number of guns I lost in that tragic accident. What is a boat load?
That water is cold tooThe number of guns I lost in that tragic accident.
Well, for you guys, probably 10,000 rounds. For me, my latest haul was 1,000. But seeing how fast I'm going thru it, perhaps 2 boat-loads would have been in order! What is a boat load?
Mentioned long ago about reloading that brass. Not that hard, you can now disassemble your guns and walk/chew gum at the same time.Well, for you guys, probably 10,000 rounds. For me, my latest haul was 1,000. But seeing how fast I'm going thru it, perhaps 2 boat-loads would have been in order!
If using lead bullets, yes. If jacketed then no. Cost of components is more than loaded ammo.Mentioned long ago about reloading that brass. Not that hard, you can now disassemble your guns and walk/chew gum at the same time.

She's shooting 9x17, 9x19, 9x28R and .45 ACP.If using lead bullets, yes. If jacketed then no. Cost of components is more than loaded ammo.

10k? I've got about 15k.Well, for you guys, probably 10,000 rounds. For me, my latest haul was 1,000. But seeing how fast I'm going thru it, perhaps 2 boat-loads would have been in order!
Had 1000 rds of 7.62mm 4-1, 1000 rds of 5.56mm and fun stuff that goes BOOM dropped off on my doorstep. Time to put on my 18C Engineer/Demo hat on. Wish I could have this at home! Waiting on a new stock and sights for the M79 then will have a nice day on the range with those 40mm HEDP rounds.

Millie next purchase might just be a Browning or another 1911 in .22LR for a understudy gun.10k? I've got about 15k.
Oh, wait, that it just the 22LR.
I was thinking only about 9mm. Reloading does make sense on 380 and 45ACP.She's shooting 9x17, 9x19, 9x28R and .45 ACP.

I am looking into reloading, but I don't even have a .45...yet.I was thinking only about 9mm. Reloading does make sense on 380 and 45ACP.
I look at cost of powder primer and bullets vs cost of loaded ammo. When cost of loaded 9mm is 14.35 cent each it just makes sence to buy factory ammo.
Ive loaded for for 35 years and I cast my own bullets. Very rarely do I shoot any factory ammo but 9mm is the exception.
I'm willing to bet that if @Millie had a good mentor she would be loading all that she shoots. It sure is easier to feed a 45acp if you do.

Strictly from a cost perspective, you are absolutely right. However, I still load 9mm since I can tailor the loads for my needs.I look at cost of powder primer and bullets vs cost of loaded ammo. When cost of loaded 9mm is 14.35 cent each it just makes sence to buy factory ammo.
Yep if you have to hit a power rating for competitive shooting.Strictly from a cost perspective, you are absolutely right. However, I still load 9mm since I can tailor the loads for my needs.
My next purchase will be a .45 1911, preferably a Springfield.Millie next purchase might just be a Browning or another 1911 in .22LR for a understudy gun.
