What size generator?

We keep it simple using the generator for two refrigerators, microwave or toaster oven lamps, internet and tv. Cook mostly on grill and camp stove. Community well so I typically keep several buckets of water filled with a touch of bleach for using the toliet. Summer we will run a few floor fans to circulate the air. Winter gas fireplace and also keep two kerosene heaters for really cold. Fans help to move heat to other areas of the house.

When we sized our load we were at about 20kw, which I’m not sure why with a well insulated smallish new house, gas stove, oven, and water heater, but anyway, 22kw was only $500 more than 20kw (and they had one this summer) so we got that.
