I have upgraded my Bald Eagle Rest with a Shadetree top and was wondering if there are any other rests available that the Bald Eagle top will fit? It's kind of a waste to have a top without a base. Someone told me that the BE top would fit on a Caldwell BR rest but I don't believe that the threads match. The BE is 3/4-10.

The post isn't replaceable?
Got a pic?
We used to make rests in the lil shop down in the basement. But that was ages ago. Dunno what the new stuff is like.
Most tops had a milled slot for the set but you could get by w/o it if needs be and ya didn't crank on the set and jack the threads.

@HawgBonz
I'll have to check and see if the post is removable. Here is a pic of the rest in question. It is the middle one and as you can see each rest has a different size post and thread pattern.

IIRC the thread pattern is generally only relevant to the post nut that raises and lowers the top. Unless they use a jam nut and threaded the underside of the top. Can't remember if I ever saw a press fit post but it wouldn't surprise me. There's lotsa ways to skin this cat. After I started makin my own I didn't buy many others. Cept for one Farley..
The center bushing of the rest base is generally concerned with the major diameter of the threaded post. It may be something that could use a bushing if ya really like the top. Or have a machinist buddy twist ya somethin up that'll get ya there.
Then again, ya could use the old top with a different kindof bag setup so ya don't hafta jack the shape when ya change rifles. When I used to use rests regularly I had a flat bottom 3" bag inna home made windage adjustable top for the BR/varmint types. But the ol lever gun or handy type bolt action worked better in a U bag. FWIW.. šŸ˜ƒ
