I am planning to take a trip to Palmetto State Armory in March after my birthday to buy a new firearm.
I also hobby and have built 2 ARs so I have those options as well.
I am looking at the Sabre AR-10 or a long gun that I can do precision distance shooting.
I also have my eye on the AK-V 9mm Pistol because its just super cool and 9mm is cheap.

If you had about $1500 to take to PSA, what would you get? Multiple guns? Build something and accessorize it? Let me know!

Instead of making a 6 hr trip, I would just order what ever you want online and have it delivered to a local FFL and probably save money. The Denver store is only 30 minutes from me, but I still prefer to order online when they run stuff on sale. The few times I have been in the Denver store, I have been disappointed.

The akv is a lot of fun. With $1500 you should be able to get the gun and a reasonably nice optic for it. Might have money left for a few extra mags.

With the rifles you already have , I would buy some type of PCC.
9mm from a PCC that is set up right is fast , accurate out to 100 yards -easy. Learn holds and you can ring steel even farther
AKV
Or for 1500 I might go with a MP5 clone

Iā€™m gonna be ā€œthat guyā€. And to preface, I like PSA and their offerings.

Butā€¦if I had $1,500 to spend on firearms as a birthday present I would not go to PSA. Iā€™d find me a unicorn gun Iā€™ve been wanting and drop the coin on that.

To me, PSA will always be a ā€œI wish I had more money, but Iā€™ll get this because itā€™s what I can afford and still be decent quality.ā€

Dump that cash here and increase your odds of a 10K gift certificate at PSA!

I'm kidding of course but it is a great cause. Not affiliated in any way with it. Just trying to be humorous.

I just got an email for this couple days ago and bought a few tickets. I never win anything my whole life but you definitely don't win anything if you never enter šŸ¤£

I probably would have a chance with 150 tickets in the pot lol

Hmmm

If I had $1500 and no Idea what to buy with it I'd walk out of PSA with $1500. Id rather have the cash on hand for when that grail gun pops up for sale.

Or you could waste it on random crap you didn't want before you walked in. Your call.

Buy an akv used from the bst section here.

Then go buy mags and an optic with the money you saved. Should have enough leftover for a nice stack of 9mm.

Thats actually a good idea. Gotta buy the stamp first...
Noā€¦thatā€™s not how it works.

You gotta buy the silencer first. šŸ˜‰

This is solid advice. OP, got a gun you've always wanted that's either out of production or an import?

PSA dagger and Kel-Tec sub2000, bunch of mags and ammo.
And PA10 gen 3 complete upper.

AKV...LOVE mine. Add a decent reddot and mags. It's a bit heavy, but one of the most enjoyable guns to shoot I have. and man...can she SING.

Course...the CZ Shadow 2 Compact....definitely up there for me.

I ended up buying an AK-V from someone from this forum! I just took it apart and cleaned it and plan on shooting it this weekend! It came with 8 mags and 2 15 round extensions.
You should definitely still think about getting yourself some sort of "precision" or longer range oriented rig.
Theres been quite a few distance matches coming online in the past couple years that give you the opportunity to stretch legs on rifles you otherwise couldn't unless you're a member to xyz range.
A longer barreled ar15 in 556 would get you in the game and suffice fairly well! Lots of fun and interaction with people with some SERIOUS skill too!

My neighbor actually does competition long range shooting. I have a 30-06 Remington and a 16" 5.56 AR. A lot of the money for that stuff goes into the optics though!
I want to build a .308 eventually to be a long range rifle.

That 16" can get it done! I use the same 14.5" for 2 gun, sniper/DMR, RnGs. And regularly tend to place fairly well given the equipment. Optics do help! I'll credit the versatility of that rifle to the Athlon 2-12 it sports. Anything from super close out to 1020 and lobbing them in it has proven capable.

Congrats OP! Don't think you'll be disappointed. LOVE mine. A bit of weight, but she runs great.

Long range is good too...always good to have options and worthwhile hobbies!

You could be better off visiting the website depending on how far you'd be traveling to visit their retail store. Which location? I frequent the Charleston store and Summerville location. You're not walking in to any PSA and walking out with a new Sabre 10 unless you ordered it online from psa and shipped it to psa. Rarely do you see new and cool stuff in store. I have seen a 13.7 sabre10 in store but you can call and ask before you go. I just sold my ak-v. Great gun for me. My friend had an issue breaking firing pins in his ak-v due to a bad firing pin channel but psa fixed it and it was fine after but then he traded his too. They generally have ak-v's in stock in store. If I had 1500 to blast I'd stock up on ammo that I'm low on. 12ga, 45-70, .308. Maybe buy a lot of tannerite. Thermal maybe. No new holosun thermals in stock yet either. Hope this helped
