I'm picking through the Sierra loading book and they have an unidentified * on a few loads. Normally things offset with * have a foot note, but this manual wants me to hunt for what they're trying to tell me.
Look at the HS6 and Blue Dot lines for example.

I would have to go look at my manual, but I believe the asterisks indicate the most accurate loads (in their tests).

I had considered this, but they show their suggested accuracy load under the chart. In this case they recommend Unique, but Unique has no * in the chart. HS6 is shown as the preferred hunting load...

I found this in their app.

Yeah, I emailed them about 10 minutes ago. I'm still doing brass prep, let's hope they can enlighten me. It's odd that none of the other 4 resources I'm crossing against have anything special to say about either powder. If I hadn't seen this resource I'd be trucking along and minding my business, but now curiosity, and the love I have for my hands and eyes, has me stopping to ask questions.

IIRC HS-6 likes magnum primers. maybe the * indicates that a magnum primer should be used?
good call. I've definitely seen that note elsewhere.

Edit...that's it I found the note about the primer. Thank you.
