Sell me on your favorite kit.
Right now I have a super lightweight rig for AK mags from CRH customs that will also fit AR mags but I'm looking for something H harness that fits a little better a can carry a load better.
Really just want 3-5 mag spots, dangler or tourniquet space and maybe an extra pocket or two for other things.

I've been running a Haley Micro for a few years now, paired with a dangler full of trauma stuff. I absolutely love it, but it is definitely "micro". 3 mags, a small admin pocket, and the dangler. I'm sure I could expand it out, but I've been casually considering a separate rig for more "sustainment" oriented larping.

Spiritus 34a is a split rig I’ve been using lately. I haven’t got it quite like I want it just yet though. I’ve been moving pouches around to see what's the most comfortable but I will say that it’s a lot more comfortable than one of the standard spiritus chest rigs.

The selling point for me is keeping weight off my chest and being able to unclip the front to cool off as well as being a little more comfortable shooting prone.

Anyone know of a good 7.62 rig? :)
When I was looking to get one for a G3 I ended up buying several of the khaki/green colored SR25 pouches and putting them on a cheap molle panel. That's been a couple years ago and there weren't a lot of options then but maybe things have changed.

g code scorpion pouches work with ar, ak, and 308 mags, if you’re looking to piece one together.

They are awesome pouches. I have a whole g code belt setup. I love those pouches.

I know people shit on GBRS, but they came out with a super modular chest rig recently.

You can use old molle pouches, etc with it.

Crye Airlite. Don't be poor.

I joke. The airlite can be configured for ride height and has in my experience carried my 7.62 and 556 mags well. It also sits well on the body

I have a beez combat systems chest rig for my ak, and I like it a lot. It’s pretty modular and works well with my ak. I just need to replace the x harness for a h harness and it would be perfect

I have the Haley Strategic X-chest rig (D3CRX). 4 rifle pouches, 4 pistol pouches and 2 admin. I love it! You can add a dangler and incorporate a flat pack. Pricey, but the quality is there.

I picked up one of these Redfaced Roidman Research Group recce rigs for half what they go for. I'd have preferred a plain color and open tops, but this might be worth trying. It rides pretty well.

Haley Strategic D3CRX, but with the X harness swapped out for an H. Has been incredibly durable over dozens of Run n Gun events. I have the dangler stuffed with med kit, but have gone to wearing that stuff on the belt. Also have a flat pack that I'll pop on depending on the course being run. I added some "wings" to the rig for a bit more MOLLE panel to hang admin lights off of, and because I'm a 'lil bit fluffy it's more comfy.

If you want a decent rig for CHEAP, I picked up one of these off a prize table and am impressed: https://kratetactical.com/product-category/chest-rigs/

I'm not a fan of anything with flaps unless you have a NEED for them.

Carry the minimum of what you need and add as mission specific. When you carry too much stuff you get tired. Your brain is less efficient, you make mistakes/miss stuff.

I'd rather have less ammo and be sharper mentally and physically than have 12 mags and not notice something important.

Hydrate and have a means of hydration if you don't have access to water for long periods.

Water is the most over looked, but most important thing that a person can carry. It isn't super sexy, but having the ability to carry 2 quarts is more important than ALOT of things!

I’ve got 3 main chest rigs I use. A modified multicam TAPS, a parashooter gear type81m and an old 3 cell green chicom.

If sustainment is the name of the game I take the taps. 2 canteens on the front, plenty of mags, and zippered pockets on each side for feel good items. Range and light hikes? Chicom rigs all day.
