Where is your "place of peace"?

Thank you! I'd forgotten that the Lumber was one of my first, before I even actually realized it!
My cousins allow us to go onto their property there and swim and visit, and the annual picnic in July is there. They have a great spot overlooking the river.

At our mountain place relaxing on the porch. That and cruising the back roads in Ashe Co on my 250L. Activity making plans to slow down my side hustle and spend lots more time there this summer and fall.

The wife and I have busted our A$$s for the past 10 years and I’m ready to start taking some time “to smell the roses” Life is short so enjoy it

Too many to count. Sitting by a bon fire, on the porch in a rain storm, sitting with my wife having coffee, taking in a sunset or sunrise anywhere, being on water in anything that floats, listening to music, cooking for others, watching those you love succeed, hiking anywhere, watching anyone who is so skilled at their craft, watching animals do animal things, watching the weather, feeling a dogs head rested on my knee, a handshake from a good friend, a hug from a parent or your children, a winter snow storm, a fireplace, fresh cut grass, kids playing in the yard, music from my childhood, doing a good job, being surrounded by kind people, Old dogs and children and watermelon wine. (Tom T. Hall rip), just to name a very few.

Interesting to see all the different "fortresses of solitude". I chill out in my man cave when my wife is out of the house. It gets spooky quiet. My ideal piece of peace is still in the planning stages. 100 acres somewhere away from population centers with 4 acres cleared in the middle with my dream house sitting in the middle of that.

Living in WNC it is anywhere outside. I love being around 5500’ on the transition from oak/hickory to spruce/fir forests.

During thr summer and sometimes the winter I’ll get up before dark and sit outside having some coffee. Listening and being still. That moment when nature wakes up and all the birds begin singing is always a joy.

I take great comfort in watching my son, 8 in Feb, ride his 4 wheeler. Recently he’s stepped up to learning a clutch and riding a 80 two stroke and the smile on his face when he takes off the helmet warms my heart.

This time of year, sitting outside watching a fire burn is also very peaceful.

Odd as it sounds, one of my biggest 'happy places' is the courthouse steps in Lexington NC
I get a drink (coffee, cheerwine, rootbeer), take a book, read and people watch. It relaxes me and brightens my day

Not always a place of peace for us but was last night. In-Laws house with family just after opening gifts Christmas Eve. I walked out on the deck and had to grab everyone to come see the sunset. I'm a mountains lover but a good sunset over water is hard to beat. God is good.
