I'm in Anderson, SC and my children are going crazy to see snow. We go to Hendersonville several times a year, Ashville every so often, Boone, etc. I'm looking for a quick(ish) trip after church tomorrow so it won't be such a long day. H'ville is about an hour away, that would be nice. Anybody with an hour to 2 away from Anderson with snow? Two little girls, one big girl, and a tired old man would love to make a trip tomorrow.
Thanks
Stephen

Hmmm, looking less snowy than I had hoped. I'm trying to talk my wife into waiting a few weeks when it should be more of a sure thing.

A little far (4hrs?) from you but our place in West Jefferson got a few inches last night. I know the driveway melted today being in the sun but there looks to be snow in many other places. High today was 11 degrees and it’s getting down to 3°tonight. Windchill of -14°. Doubt much will melt in the next few days

That's what I'm talking about.
The thing is by the time we made it it would be close to dark, then will be late coming back, at least later than I care for on a night before a work day. Yes, 51 with a 2 and 5 year old. I like missing as little sleep as possible.

Totally get it. I’m 34 with a 1 year old and need my sleep as well.

Keep in mind that there are great snow tubing/skiing places within 30-40 minutes of here. If you all want to come up for a few nights we do rent our place out. Happy to save some $ booking direct vs Airbnb\VRBO. Good luck in your snow search!

We will definitely talk about it, looks like a place we would like to stay. Just sent the link to the wife.

Oh well. Fate has determined my, um, fate.
Couldn't even make it to church this morning because the Tahoe is acting weird, now running around town trying to find a place with an OBD reader that actually works.

Bryson City is dry, power outage in part of town.
Nation Weather Service showed 3 degrees when I got up this morning.
No service at Church, they are in area of power outage.
Approximately 3,000 homes without power.

Sounds like it might be a good thing that we're not able to go anywhere today. What we might do is try to find a place y'all's way toward the end of February and gamble that there will be snow on the ground.

I'd like to get one dump of about 8" of snow, then 70 degrees after that until summer. That's all I want.
You and me both. I do not like cold weather. Cold is to the bone. In summer I can at least just grab some shorts and go outside and feel totally fine.

We had a fake snow maker the other day at work, testing it out for festivities next Christmas. It uses a chemical that’s basically soap to make fluffy realistic looking snow.

Best part is there was nothing to clean up!

That grill makes a good burger!

We made a quick dash to Roan Mt, TN to Fairhaven. There's a chance of snow, so my wife booked a last minute cabin up there. It was tough (edit: touch, auto correct, TOUCH!) and go, we had to remain silent about the snow part so our girls wouldn't get disappointed if nothing happened.
It snowed just enough there to say it did, but Sunday we went to Carter's Gap and was able to build a "snowman." I don't like dashing around, but it was all worth it.
