Why Do I Carry While Riding My Bicycle?

Back to the OP, if you ever rode Wake Co's Greenway system, that's why you'd carry especially around Poole Rd and the Wino jungle.

It is funny seeing you complain about something slower than you making it difficult to maintain speed while telling people in cars to quit complaining about bikes.

A lot more goes in to maintaining speed on a bicycle than in a car.

Not trying to be obtuse, but isn't the point to exercise? Asking honestly.

Sometimes the point isn't purely to exert effort. You could strain against a wall for exercise, but that wouldn't be much fun.

RE: bike lanes,
In the real world bike lanes rapidly deteriorate into trash can, piles of sticks and broken glass lanes due to very limited traffic. Cars traveling on the road tend to keep the roads pretty clear of debris, which makes the well-traveled lanes better for cyclists who can be easily thrown by sticks, rocks or piles of sand.

The bike lanes I use in Charlotte stay pretty clean.

How long til someone develops a holster that can bolt on to one of the bottle cage mounts? Might solve some issues 😁

Why? I'd rather carry IWB like I always do, bike or otherwise.

Honestly, funny though this idea is, it wouldn't solve any of the "issues" we've been talking about here. The *ssholes pulling stunts like trying to clip or startle bicyclists with their vehicles, or cut them off, aren't likely to see or pay attention to such a detail as they come up on us to pull their crap. And the *ssholes who do notice are likely to pull more aggressive stunts. Because they're *ssholes. And *ssholes don't care.

Sounds like we've finally found a good use for that gold-plated Desert Eagle? 😁 Yeah I'm just kidding, I just carry the little LCPii and forget its even in my pocket most of the time.

Doesn't seem to be as many riders as a few years ago. Our area was pretty popular. I gave it up reluctantly. Great exercise. Just too dangerous. Stupid or clueless people constantly. The speed and traffic alone. Only had a few hostile bike haters but they were pretty scary out of the blue for no obvious reason. They just hate bike faggots maybe. Best not to react and let them move on. A little 380 might not be enough if you flip them off.

I just wave at them like they are a long lost friend. It usually pisses them off more that I am smiling and waving at them. I carry a PCR loaded with 15 +P+ hollow points.

You dress funny, but have great taste in pistols. My friend's neighbor got hit from behind into a deep ditch. He was unconscious for a few hours before he could crawl out. Never knew what happened. Some threats can't be neutralized or avoided.

When bikes first became popular there were special pistols that slipped inside the handle bars and doubled as grips. Threats in those days were dogs. American Rifleman may have reproduced the original advert. Haven't seen it since.
