The main thing, above all others, is getting who you are out "there" so that others learn who you are, by what you like, post, and say in chat. Trust comes from that, and to me that's important. If you're here to buy, sell, or trade and that's your main interest, that's ok by me, but it would do you some good by letting others get a feel for who you are and what you think about things.
It wouldn't hurt you much to become a member if you're not one already. It shows that you care about what goes on in here and gives you access to become even more active.
If you can afford it, why not give a little something toward the site? You'll get all the swag and access that comes with it, but that's nothing. It shows that you support us all and that we all matter to you. You become one of bricks that keep the roof up. I don't need to stress the importance of that.
Finally, let me say that for me, the biggest benefit of all is the life long friendships that have come out of my participation with this group of folks. I am extremely proud to say that they are the best. In this day and time, where there is little trust among neighbors, this is a place you can still develop repore with like minded people as yourself, and those you disagree with too. It's worth so much more than the few cents I put in the pot.
