Is there a website to appraise an old 30-30? I ran the serial number on different website, with the date of manf being bn 1907 and 1909. It shoots great. I shot it last summer, and I added a nose ring to it, saddle ring, whatever. Thanks.

There's an appraisal section here that's open to supporting members. You'll need more pics tho.

Whatever you do, realize that if it's made in the early 1900s then it is what's referred to as a pre-64 model and is worth a good bit more than a post-64

Thanks. $450 out the door at a pawn shop in 2016, I reblued the receiver bc it was completely silver from someone having removed the bluing (why???), and I spent $40 adding a saddle ring. It functions as well as my 20 yr old 94AE.

It might not be “collector grade” but I’ll bet most here wouldn’t turn that old girl down at $450 (Hell, if you ever wanted your $450 plus $40 for the ring I’m sure that could be obliged too). Since it’s been reblued I’d say “very nice shooter” and enjoy. If you ever want to freshen it up even more give @NiceOldDouble a shout and see what preservation work he could do for you (he’s in the RTP area).

That seems remarkably low given today's market and that the bluing on the receiver matches the barrel. I need to work on the nose ring.

Winchesters and Marlins are Kinda scarce, like dinosaurs. Don't see that many around anymore. Hang onto it, you'll have no regrets.
