I had SSK build this gun in 2007. It was an easy conversion, starting out as one of the Winchester M70s chambered in 300 RUM. No hassles, easy convert. I had been keeping most of these actions to convert to 500 MDM, but I sacrificed a few for projects like this one. Its a plain jane sporter version, kept the sporter stock that it came in. No frills and nothing fancy. It shoots great, last time I fired it was doing test work with some of the CEB Raptors in 2012. Its been in the rack since then, and not one piece of ammo on the shelf for it. This had to change.

I have had a large variety of bullets on the shelf for years in .338. Everything from 160 Barnes TTSX, to 300 gr Woodleigh Soft and FMJ.......... I used all the very light bullets for the 338 WSM rifles, since the 338 has much more capacity, I decided to run the 250 gr bullets in it that I had on hand. After some sighting in, and test work using what I did in years past, I decided to work with the 250 Barnes TSX and I had 250 gr Barnes Solids on the shelf as well.............Running both bullets with 86/IMR 4350 the TSX runs at 2912 fps and the Solid version at 2887, and both in the same hole at 50 yards.
