So where is WNC? I keep seeing this but don’t know what towns would be included.

Thanks

For some folks, WNC includes Charlotte. For others, Asheville isn't included.

It's the same as the definition of upstate in SC.

For me when I think of wnc Charlotte isn't included.
Asheville is..
I guess it's where you live that forms your perspective

It’s more of a chamber of commerce branding than it is a real thing. I believe it’s intended to be the foothills and mountains which actually run southwest to northeast on a slant.

But SENWNC doesn’t sell cutesy things to tourists.

WNC somehow makes people want to live there.

Grew up in Charlotte, went to school near Asheville, but have lived in Wake county thirty years.

WNC to me started at the foothills and everything west, although I believe the Boone/Blowing Rock area two hours north seem to refer to themselves as the high country, at least to the tourists.

But who knows, downtown Charlotte is now uptown Charlotte. Not sure when the elevation or GPS coordinates changed.

The bigger question for the OP, where is NTB, NC?

The hotspot destination for yuppies and leftists to relocate to escape the diversity and inclusion of their craphole city

The Mountain Starter Pack

-modern Subaru with a Blue Ridge Parkway license plate and those geographical oval euro style stickers
---bonus points if it's custom script like LUVMTNS or CBNLYF
-a pair of Danner Mountain 600s and a shirt with the John Muir quote
-naming your new house with a sign over the door or out front "misty mountain retreat"
-antique tools you have no idea what did littered around as decoration
-all the posted signs and purple spray paint from the cool little local hardware store
---bonus points for interrupting trout streams because it goes through one corner of your 1 acre lot
-"we love it here, we've been coming for like at least 2 years"
---bonus points if runs for local government to help out and bring in line with current values
edit to add
-constant jokes about Deliverance
-"hey where are all the smallmouth"

NTB North Topsail Beach. Right next door to Camp LaJeune and Sneads Ferry. We share a zip code with the ferry.

Thanks guys! Especially for the map.

Tricia and I are actively looking for a place in the mountains. Tryon, Hendersonville, Saluda region. Tired of all the crap involved in living on the ocean.

I always figured it was around the 221

Hahaha!

Wait that's not funny. It's true😑

Until I found Carolina based forums. WNC was everything west of Ashevegas... I've grown up an hour from there.

But I've come to understand it's like said above. Heading west on 40. Those first mountains you see. That's Western NC.
