Wolf T91 upper

They're neat, but proprietary with little aftermarket. I've read reviews that say they are great and some that say they are trash. Truth is probably somewhere inbetween.

If you get one I'd use a heavier buffer, maybe H3.

I purchased one a few weeks ago, and it shoots great! The handguard reminds me of the Bulgarian grip style plastic where it feels more dense and beefy. It really fits my hand well. Everything seems well made, but only time will tell. I purchased with intentions of running my can so I don’t get so much gas blowback in my face.

I was about to post that site as well @FarpinDar . I had one a few years ago and a 80% T91 marked lower lower (that I never got around finishing). Sold everything and not really sure why I did! 🤔

I have four (yes, four) P/W 14.5" uppers. I've shot each about 50 rounds. Half way tempted to sell them off, not because I don't like them, but because I never, ever shoot them.

I have one and it runs fine. Wish the gas block was adjustable and there is only 1 place I've seen an aftermarket handguard. https://store.t91tactical.com/T91-Quad-Rail-Handguard-Made-For-BB-Gun-p95432957
Recoil impulse is different, not better or worse, just different. Running a standard buffer with it.
I own an assortment of AR-style rifles. but they are all DI - not one piston AR. I was under the impression that a standard buffer wasn't used and a big advantage with piston guns is that you could actually fire the gun with the stock folded if you wanted to. How does your buffer system work? Thanks.

This is not the case with the T91. I can’t speak for other piston AR’s, but I would assume they’re all alike in the sense that the BCG just has a strike face on it instead of a cup. The piston just takes the place of the gas tube and physically pushes the BCG rearward, but the buffer and spring are still required to put the BCG back into battery.

Now AK’s are a different story… The return spring is all contained in the back of the BCG and receiver, so the stock can be folded or absent. Some AK’s can be fitted with a buffer tube and AR style buttstock, but this is purely aesthetic and preference, and is not required for function.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. There are some pretty cool bufferless AR15-types on the market - I just don't own one or have any experience with them. The can have folding or retractable stocks/braces, from what I have seen (awaiting someone here with knowledge to chime it). I didn't realize that they made piston AR's with buffers/tubes.

Now AK's....I have a "few" of those! I see your screen name and suppose you do too, LOL.

Didn’t mean to insult your intelligence! Hmm, I didn’t know such a thing existed. I’d be really interested to see how a buffer-less AR functioned.

I’m still fairly new to AK’s, but I’ve quickly fallen in love with them. I picked up my first one a few years ago and have since expanded into 5.45 territory 😬 74’s are amazing!

So the makers claim to fame is reliability and ease of cleaning. Anybody want to chime in on the latter, is it really as super easy to clean as they claim?

What is this “cleaning” you speak of??? 🤔🤨🤣
I will admit that I am not exactly a stickler for "fire 20 rounds and take it all apart and clean it" but every once in a while I will. Usually after a couple of hundred rounds.

You have less gas and unburnt powder by coming into the receiver with the piston. It does make it easier to clean if you check both styles at a similar round count.

Have heard a lot of good things about the T91 uppers, just wish that atlantic would restock the 14.5 so i could pin and weld one
