Bought a raffle ticket to support a kids baseball team a few weeks ago. The team had a table set up in front of Eagle Guns in Concord. Really, had no thought about actually winning. It was just to support kids sports. Well, got a call tonight saying that I won a Glock 19. I am a revolver guy most of the time but still love my Glocks. In fact, all of my Glocks survived the cut when other semi-autos got dumped to make room for revolvers. Look forward to shooting and carrying this Glock 19. This also means that the team sold all or most of the tickets. Hope it helps them along to a good baseball season.

Cool buy a raffle ticket from me so you can win an AR15.

I’ve been carrying a G19 for years. They’re great pistols

So, what you're telling me is that you don't have any use for that shrouded Colt Agent these days.
Just like a lawyer, trying to twist my words around.

That's awesome, congrats. I'm usually skeptical of raffles because you rarely hear about the winners.

My friend won a KSG in a $20 raffle a few years ago, that's a fun range gun and decent HD weapon!

You've recently done something extra thoughtful for someone, and fate is rewarding kindness.
I don't know how it works but it does.
Give what you want to get.

Of course if you're feeling guilty about it you can send it to me for counseling. I'll pay for 1/2 shipping.

The G19 and P01 are excellent pistols.
Nearly all the pistols in the size class of the G19, P01, P225/P228 are perfect as "do-it-all" side arms. They are large enough to be viable service pistols for uniform carry, yet compact enough to also be viable for EDC/CC.

One could not go wrong with any of them. I believe this size of service grade auto really came about as a result of the (West) German Police modernization trails post-Munich 1972 Olympic massacre. The majority of European security forces were armed primarily with .32acp & .380acp small autos. They all felt they needed to upgrade, with the new wave of terrorism sweeping Europe, so they looked to the German trials and waited anxiously.

The German police service pistol trials were (to my knowledge) the first modern true endurance tests to be conducted for a service pistol selection.
The result was the development of three excellent compact service pistols: the Walther P5, The SIG P6/P225 and the H&K PSP/P7.

From then on nearly all manufacturers have tried, mostly successfully, to come up with their own designs that are comparable in size and performance, to the German's P5, P6 & P7 and we are the better for it.

Look at the excellent compact service autos that have come since; the G19, P228/229, P2022, P320C, CZ's PCR, P01, P07 and far too many others to mention.

Closing thoughts...
During the 20th Century, the three most issued service side arms world wide (in this order) were the S&W M10, the Browning Hi-Power and the PM Makarov....

Who'd have thought the line-up today would be the G19 and the various CZ-75s that would have supplanted the M10 and the BHP, with the PM Makarov still hanging tough all over the third world?

We take donations. I'm not a kid's baseball team but I am a fat, balding guy with another baby due in December.

I'll think about that for the next show. Was not in the market for a modern production gun this time...but did send you a customer who bought a Smith 637 [emoji846]

If I'm not carrying it. I'm carrying a Glock 17. And a S&W Model 36 in my off side front pocket.

IMO, GLOCK never got better than this right here... I love my 43, but the Gen2 19 will always be my fav. Everything you need, nothing you don't.

I did notice they started back in that direction with the Gen5...

Awesome... Love to hear when people actually win raffles. I wonder sometimes how many are actually scams(yes I'm a pessimist).

I have been involved with several raffles due to being involved with a couple different charitable organizations. I understand the feeling that people have about raffles seeming like a scam. You have to sell, say, three hundred tickets to cover the cost of maybe 5 prizes and also make money for the organization. That creates 295 people who don't get anything for their money and 5 people who are really, really happy about the raffle.

You suck!! Lol I never win anything. But I still buy tickets to help out when I can.

Shoot it. I carry a G19 everyday. I love mine. IMO the G19 is about as perfect as handgun there is. Good size, good round, good compacity, and accurate. Enjoy :)

All this raffle talk makes me think of a story I heard one time, goes something like this:

Some future farmers decided they were going to hold a raffle for their local chapter. After asking everyone for donations all they had was a 18 year old mule with one foot in the grave. Ever determined they started selling raffle tickets, and being a farming community, people really got on board and bought tons of tickets. Half way through the sale the old mule died, but they had done so well they just decided to keep selling tickets. The day after the raffle was held the boys ran into the farmer who had donated the mule. Word had gotten around about what the boys had done and the farmer confronted them about it. "Boys, I can't believe what y'all did. That just isn't how things are done around here. Wasn't everyone mad at y'all?" To which the oldest boy replied, "Only the winner, so we gave him his money back."
