You remember in 2016 when the homeowner in Raleigh calls 911, tells the dispatcher he was “locked and loaded” and on his way to “secure” his neighborhood from what he called a “bunch of hoodlums”? By the time police arrived, Mr. Copley had "fired a warning shot, just like the law requires", from a shotgun through his garage window at a man across the street, and a man was dead.

Today, it took a jury less than two hours to convict him of first degree murder.

Crazy #1: Going to trial for first degree murder, with those facts not in dispute, and pleading innocent.

Crazy #2: Saying "I'm going to kill 'em" while on 911 hold. (He later said he was referring to his young son, who had done something that annoyed him).

Crazy #3: Testifying in his own defense, and lying (badly) about everything except maybe his own name. Idiot claimed on the stand that not only the dead man, but two others had guns, not recovered by police nor seen by any other witness. He had never said that to the detective that night, nor in any pre-trial statements, he just spontaneously changed his story as he sat in the witness chair.

Stupid. See you in about 40 years.

he made it easy for the jury, judge, and prosecution.
