My son has an XD Mod 2 in 45acp. He is getting light primer strikes. Anyone had issues with theirs?

Would you contact Springfield or buy a better spring/pin? Suggestions for him?

I've never been an XD fan, nothing against them really, just nothing for them either. My FNX shot the same rounds without issues.

What kind of ammo? Light strikes are common with steel cased ammo and striker fired pistols. I would also detail strip it and see if there is any gunk in the striker channel as that can also cause light strikes.

I'll check on the detailed strip. I don't know his cleaning ritual. However; he was taught his entire life to keep his weapons clean. Go to the range, come home and clean, no exceptions. Maybe he got lazy..... The weapon has a pretty low round count. I would estimate 500 or less.

The ammo he was running was 45 acp sellier & bellot Brass (we don't shoot steel case), While it's not my first choice in ammo, I've never had any problems with it in striker fired pistols. I shot a couple mags in my G30 without issues.

That's a pretty low round count, so the channel is probably pretty clean. Check that when he's cleaning it that he doesn't lube the striker, as that can attract debris to build up in the channel.
