Scully still looks good! Wife and I used to love that show when it first came out. My kids name is Dana. Gee, I wonder where we came up with that name?

{SPOILER ALERT}

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED......

I wonder if William Really is the smoking man's son. I think he was lying to Skinner.
I think he infected Skully with an alien virus/DNA/whatever....but the baby is Mulder's!!

I think the baby daddy is the alien.

I don't know. Seemed hurried and forced to me. Mulder and Skinner have worked together for almost 30 years now. You'd think they were beyond pushing and shoving to prove a point. Poor Scully was up, down, up, down, in a wreck, up then down again throughout the whole episode. As a 50+ year old guy like Mulder myself, work all day, drive to South Carolina, talk for 5 minutes (in harsh tones!) to the guy who appears to be the new cigarette smoking man (now with more hair!) and his partner then jump back in the car and drive back to Scully's bedside just in time to save her life - well, I'm calling bullshit. Most proper men that age would have had to spend the night with a 12 pack and a remote control before attempting the drive back. Just sayin'.

The appearance of the Mulder and Scully Juniors late in the episode combined with the quick edits and jerky cuts which then rolled into too many commercials with quick edits and jerky cuts featuring products for the quick, jerky and very hip makes it clear to me they are re-positioning the show to a much younger audience. (I am personally embarrassed that I own a phone that will not attach a dog nose and fox ears to my personal avatar - I hope you won't think less of me).

Having just watched several episodes from season 3 in the last couple of days, this episode seems a pale hybrid designed to bridge the old show to whatever the new incarnation might possibly become while at least trying to tie up some loose ends and pay respect to the original franchise - sort of a remake without without waiting for the original to be complete.

That said, I'll hang in there just to see how it all turns out. The truth is out there.

My $0.02 YMMV

Maybe this time the show will be film in the light so you will know what is going on.

Doesn't look like it. I saw on facebook in late December that Gillian Anderson made a post for the wrap of shooting this season's episodes.

"25 years of night shoots, 25 years of frozen lips, 25 years of friendship.
Happy wrap David Duchovny.
Thanks for taking this ride with me and I’ll see you in January! #TheXFiles The X-Files" -Gillian
