Xiegu G90

So I got myself a G90 and am considering antenna options. Thinking about building an antenna and am considering building this ARRL End-Fed kit. Is this a good starter set up for not only this 20 watt setup but also when I move up to more powerful radio.

So bought this set up for my first HF gear. I built the EFHW antenna kit also and have made DX contacts in Canada, France and the Netherlands with it.

Made my two farthest contacts yesterday afternoon. First was Slovenia at 4666 miles which was now my farthest European contact. Later in the afternoon I thought I’d try again and made Argentina at 5213 miles now officially my farthest. This with the G90 at 20 watts and my kit built EFHW antenna.

Everyone I know with that radio, loves it. If I didn’t have a lab599 tx-500, I’d get the g90. Tuner tunes anything and they just punch above their weight.

Had a pretty good stretch this weekend with the NA contest going on. Lots of operators looking for contacts. 20 watts and the EFHW and I picked up Colombia, Curaçao, Belize, Puerto Rico, Cape Verde, St. Thomas, Spain, Brazil and Costa Rica.

I worked about 75 contacts mostly on 10 and 15m. Got a nice 80m contact into Bulgaria then lost a transistor in the pa of my ic756 proIII, dropped to 30w and I lost all alc movement. Guess I get to do some surgery.
That contest is great for getting dxcc and I was lacking on the high bands.
