I have been using a bunch of Xtreme bullets and got some of their 45 ACP HPs. Not really sure that they will expand by looking at how much solid material is up front or how small the HP is.

Has anybody played around with Xtreme HP bullets?

I have shot a ton of Xtreme bullets, in fact their heavy plate RN 124gr 9mm is my preferred bullets for 9 major loads as they hold up great, are very accurate, and if you catch the 10-15% off with free shipping deals they run periodically, are very cost effective. I have shot a ton of their HP bullets and have no idea if they expand, if I had to guess I would seriously doubt they do. Maybe you could get the same weight Xtreme to practice with on the cheap and buy the more proven expanding rounds for more serious work.

That's the bullet I load from them. It's a good all around range / practice load and it's affordable.
Xtreme is not the fastest to ship, so I usually order when I get down to my last box of 500.

That's all I use. The crimp adjustment was a bit different due to the plating but no complaints.

Good for indoor ranges that require full copper jacketing. Don't get me going on why since the projectile breaks up on backstop impact.

Exposed lead on the base of FMJ bullets will leave behind lead residue when fired. The ranges are concerned about lead exposure at the firing line, not at the berm. At least that is how it was explained to me. I don't know if this is more of an issue than the lead from the primer compound, though. Proper ventilation and filtration are more important, IMHO.

If you want expansion, look at some Speer Gold Dot or Hornady XTP hollow points. As it was mentioned, Xtreme HPs are for accuracy

It is my understanding that the HP bullets are not for expansion but for accuracy and they mimic the Hornady HAP bullets for shape and loading variables.

Look here, don't you go trying to use logic! Haha

I like their 158gr plated for .38 reloads. Get on their email list. Every so often they have 15% off plus free shipping.

They just had a 15% site wide sale. I got in on the black Friday 20% sale, I have 110 lbs that should be arriving today. (Yes, nearly 6 weeks later). That is the thing about their big sale events, their shipping times go to pot. No worries for me, I plan for it and just replenish what I have used.

In the past month, I have ordered 9s, 38/357s/45acp/45LC and 308 (30-30) bullets. Most have come in. All was ordered with the 15% discount and free shipping.
I wish Missouri Bullet would offer free shipping. I like their 45-70 bullets and 30-30 bullets. About a month ago I order from them a box of 300 and 405 gn bullets and shipping was $18 for one box or 2. Made me buy the second box. I guess that is good marketing.
