I recently made a rack to keep my instrument case in place in my work truck. Only problem is that it rattles and rubs in a few places and the noise is going to drive me nuts. Is there anything I can cover/coat the wood in that would cut back on the vibration noise?

Wrap it it duct tape? Or spray one of these products?

Ah, undercoating spray. Totally forgot about that stuff, might try that.

Pic of current set up and where it’s rubbing

Imagine a piece of plywood table sitting in the back of a crew cab truck. I can take a photo, but it's likely rubbing in several places, and I'm not terribly committed to going full Norm Abram on it. :D

Edit: didn't mean for that to sound snarky.

Alright, thats better picturing for now lol. But anything rubber really

So it's not bolted down?
Could you possibly attach straps and tie it down to the latch anchors for car seats? If it's solid the noise probably goes away.

It's not my work truck so much as the work truck I use. I don't want to take any liberties with attachments, drilling holes, anchoring things, etc. Plus it's a two seater crew cab deal, so the back is pretty spartan in regards to tie down points.

Tack it down with this.

Reactions: Me.
gorilla glue some high density foam in there and cut slots to hold your tools tight.
I just got a few nice thick strips out of a water filtration system that I'll probably use for something similar. I'm thinking a cleaning rod holder similar to a fishing rod rack...
