YHM Turbo K. First can and chose it due to some solid advice I received here. Filed on 1/11/23 and took possession on 8/4/23.
I went with the model that incudes the muzzle brake. Mounted/timed the brake per mfr specs…no Rocksett or other threadlocker. Torque is right at 20 ft lbs. Attached the can, eyeballed the alignment and gave it the flashlight/paper test…everything looked good. I removed and installed the can several times and the muzzle brake never shifted.
Took it to PHA this morning. Shooting it on an Aero build, 10.3 Hanson stainless barrel chambered for .223 Wylde. Non-adjustable gas block, standard carbine spring and an H2 buffer. Ammo used - .224 75gr Speer TMJ handloads.
Went through 250 rounds. No malfunctions or failures. Ejected just shy of 3:00…we’ll call it 2:45. I may try an H3 buffer in it next time I go out.
Gas in the face didn’t seem to be an issue. I do the RTV mod on all my charging handles and I am running a Radian Raptor. I did take along a standard CH and shot a few rounds with it. I can tell you the RTV mod makes a very noticeable difference.
I did slow fire, doubles, triples and a 30 round dump. The can locked up solid and did not shoot loose, at all. Once I got back home, I tried removing the can, to see if there was any carbon lock…none and removing the can was a breeze.
I had no discernable POI shift between shooting suppressed/unsuppressed.
The YHM TK is not a “cheap” can. It’s a solid, well-made and very affordable (sub $400) suppressor. Considering what you get for that price, I do not think it can be beat. The suppressor comes with the muzzle device/QD mount/shims and 2 spanner wrenches. At 5.5” and <12 oz with the QD mount, it’s a light, compact setup.
If you’re looking for a great suppressor at a great price, check it out.
My bedside AR is now complete, so I’m a happy dude.👍
