Your Favorite Source for Jacketed/Plated Bullets for Reloading 9mm

Whatever I can find the cheapest at the time. I've shot Berry's, Rainier and extreme and to me they were all about the same. I don't shoot well enough to tell the difference anyway so I just buy the lowest priced bullet that day.

Any partiureason why you’re going jacketed?
I'm trying to avoid lead deposits in barrels and suppressor.
And, I really like the 147 hollow points.
But, I'm always open to learning from others.
So, if you think I should broaden my search, please share your thoughts.

For jacketed it’s hard to beat Precision Delta as long as you buy at least 2k at a time. If plated, I have had excellent results with Xtreme heavy plated or HP (all their HP are heavy plated).
I find RMR to be much cheaper, especially when you factor in the fact that they run 5-8% coupons once a month or so. Below are current prices w/o coupons, both include shipping.

115gr RN FMJ
PD - 1k @ 10.8c, 2k @ 8.3c
RMR - 1k@ 7.9c, 2k @ 7.7c

147gr RN FMJ
PD - 1k @ 12.3c, 2k @ 10.4c
RMR - 1k @ 9c, 2k @ 8.8c

The Blue Bullets for coated in 9mm/40SW/45 ACP. SNS for coated 38/357/44/45LC. Precision Delta for 9mm FMJ-HP. RMR for plated and occasionally FMJ 44 Spl/Mag and rifle calibers.

You're right about the rmr prices on RN bullets, they do have good prices on those. Should of been clearer, I was really referring more to the JHP of precision delta and didn't mean to imply they were better priced, they just perform way better for me than rmr. I've never had particularly good results with rmr.

The OP asked about our favorite source for jacketed or plated and Precision Delta and Xtreme are my favorites. They out perform the others for me, and can be a pretty good value if you order enough, but probably not the cheapest option.

I've sent a lot of Xtreme plated bullets down the barrels of my guns, but lately I've been getting RMR bullets. For my semi-auto guns, I like their RN plated bullets, but for my 16" 9mm carbine, the RMR 115 FMJ is the only thing I use. I can push them to 1500fps and get 2.5" 10 shot groups @ 100 yards, and plink steel @ 200 yards. At ~ 7 cents per, I have not found anything better.

For my 357 and 44 magnums, I get the JSP bullets from Zero. I have a 44mag revolver with a slightly rough forcing cone that just doesn't play nice with plated bullets. I hope it gets better with more use, though. I also have Rossi rifles in those calibers, and plated bullets are not rated for the velocities that I can get out of those (~1800fps).

No mention of Montana Gold? I like their jpg for IDPA.

I bought a bunch of their Bullets to load cheap 357 magnum stuff to practice with. I got a screaming deal on them so I thought I’d give them a try. For a mode range load they have been awesome in all my 357s and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

I have used a lot of RMR plated and RMJ 124gr bullets. These days their in house FMJ is only a few $ more than the plated so I have been buying those.

I have used thousands of Montana Gold bullets in 45 and 9mm with good results. I have also used many Delta Precision FMJ bullets and have about 5,000 under my bench at the moment.

edit: I have shot quite a few plated bullets but have never warmed up to them. I generally just use coated or jacketed now.

I’ve got a bunch of plated, but I prefer jacketed or coated, both seem to be more accurate from the carbines.

I'll put in another vote for RMR. Good people with good prices for a good bullet.

I've also picked up some good deals on pulled bullets from American Reloading. Sign up for their emails and they always have discount codes to get 25-30% off a category every week or two.

xtreme plated and fmj, snscasting coated, armscor jacketed on sale at wideners sometimes, montana gold if you buy a case at a time...
