Your Most Accurate Rifle / Caliber

ruger american rimfire in 22lr....it keeps impressing me everytime i shoot it and all ive ever ran through it is bulk ammo

Heavy Varmint Class Stiller Viper RBLP Drop port PPC w/Hart barrel, Jewell 1oz trigger and a Shehane copied stock. IIRC.
It agged in the low .2's at Kelblys Super Shoot in 04 or some such for 10th in Heavy Varmint. Again, IIRC.

Most accurate "regular rifle" was a lil Sako 222. That lil bugger would keep'em tight..

Ruger American .17HMR (scoped) will shoot the wings off a gnat if I can hold it; CZ455 is very close.

7mm SAUM , built on a Remington 700 action. The worst loads I've tried on this rifle were still decent......

Next I might try a 284 Winchester now that Lapua makes brass for it. I have spend way too much time on YouTube and it's a very popular cartridge amongst the F-Class guys. Seems as if the some of the 7mm cartridges are easy to work up a load for....

M77 Ruger with boat paddle stock in 280 caliber. Had it in the mid 1990’s. Simmons Atec scope. 100 yds consistently eat one hole out with cheap factory Winchester ammo…. I loved trading guns and didn’t know how hard it was to get a gun to shoot that way. Traded it. Long gone..I’d give a kidney for it back😩

Savage 93 17hmr. Its almost boring to shoot for groups with it since its not very challenging unless its windy or longer distances

30BR in remington 700 actions with Lilja and Brux bbls. 6BR in Kelbly Panda action, Brux bbl. Have another two 6BR's in Rem 700 actions with Brux bbls. First time out on paper at 600yds shot a 1.5" group with the Panda. The 30BR will shoot the same hole all day long on a good day (at 100yds).

My 18" Bison Armory AR in 6.8SPCII. With just a Vortex Viper 2-7x32, I can shoot sub-MOA at 300yds from the prone. Never had an opportunity to shoot it further & 7x is marginal for me at 300. Wouldn't mind trying a 2-10x or 2.5x10x on it, but that's a pretty low priority at the moment.

Most accurate I've ever owned was a CZ452 Varmint in .17HMR with a Weaver 6-24x42. It was boringly accurate, but I had nowhere to really use it & sent it down the road. Itty-bitty, one hole groups all day long, but I'm too ADD to punch paper for hours at a time. If I'da had some groundhogs to set up on or some steel plates way out there, it woulda been a different story, but my budget back then didn't allow for safe queens.

Ackley's are sexy..
I agree, my dad pretty much put that rifle together for me when I was around 15, I put some $$ in it but mostly him. A farmer buddy of ours threaded and chambered it. I bought a 700 chambered in 30-06 ackley last year but haven't had a chance to shoot it much.

Good story. Makes a rifle mo' special.. :)
Here's a lil history.
I call it "Cartridges Gone Bye".. There's an Ackley or 3 in there.
The sifter box is from Carl's Country Gun Shop in Hope Mills NC.
I used to help him reload and he helped me learn how. Took me on my first real hunt, too.
When he passed that is what I got. Priceless.. There's still some of his 45ACP reloads around here.
I thought it to be a mo' special showcase for some of my past loadings. 🤠

Windham Weaponry VEX 5.56/.223 with Compass Lake Engineering match chamber with a Trijicon 5-20x50 scope. This rifle shoots as well if not better than the 6mm BR guys custom rifles at our rifle club. Most of the 6mm BR guys have offered to buy it from me at twice what I have in it. I will never sell this rifle at any price. I haven't shot it in a while but somewhere around here I have pictures of 200yd and 300yd groups we shot with it. I'm going to keep looking, hopefully I can find those pictures.20220208_204835.jpg20220208_205019.jpg20220208_205007.jpg20220208_204906.jpg

The one time I went to the Roanoke Egg Shoot it came down to my buddy Roy and a guy with an AR platform rifle tradin licks at the 500 yard eggs. IIRC the AR took it. Ticked my bud off. He hated AR's..
..And while they will shoot very nicely, I can't say as I've ever seen anybody tryin to pull off an agg at a BR match with one.
If there was an edge to be had, it would be used.

Currently it's my bolt action precision rifle, a Savage Stealth Evolution in 308win. When I do my part it's a 1/2-1/4moa gun at 200 yards. With the skills I picked up recently and more practice I bet I can keep that up at even further ranges. I'd love to get into 6.5 Creedmoor once money and ammo/component availability allow.

Kinda depends......

I've owned many a rifle (scoped or otherwise) over the years that have been much more accurate than I thought they would be.

The most notable were.........

1-Scoped VZ24, basically stock except the scope bases and glass. Was easily a half to three quarter M.O.A. rifle with Romanian steel cased mil surplus 8mm.

2-Bone stock Colt Ban Era HBAR. With Winchester 40 grain .223 it shot quarter inch groups at 100 yards all day....

Haven't had much opportunity to get any range time due to a few current serious ailments. I know there are a few other notables, but memory doesn't serve so well.........

At the moment

Sako TRG-42 338 Lapua S&B PM II Glass 12-50x56
Remington 700 Action, McMillan, Bartlein Barrel .308, S&B Glass

There are some others lower down like the old standby
Ole Devine M1A with Ole Leatherwood ART scope

Really want to build a 6.5 Swede (700 Action)

(Pictures below in order)
At 100yards it would be my ruger target tactical .22 this thing hammers dimes out all day long and then some.

200 yards (all I can shoot around here)
It’s a toss up between a couple of my Remington 700’s
Wood is my 30.06 And the synthetic stock .308
Both are very accurate. If I had to put money on the table it would be the .308
