I have only recently achieved what I consider to be the overall completion of my Yugoslavian rifle collection. The history of the Balkans has always interested me, and while I've always appreciated a Mauser, German Mausers never peaked my interest other than a vague cool factor of belonging to the main antagonist of the Second World War and the history associated with it. I found Yugoslavia and it's rifles to have a very engaging, if not horrifically bloody history. My main goal was just to collect the Mausers, but by chance I already had a M59/66 SKS, but by pure chance I found a fellow member on here who was willing to trade an M59 SKS for one my handguns, so now I have everything from the Serbian M24 to the M59/66 SKS. I've always picked up milsurps, I have a decent collection. I've sold some, traded others, until I was finally able to focus my efforts on a real collection. I'm very excited to share it with all of you, I can't think of a place it would be more appreciated. In order the rifles are:
Serbian M1924; M24/47; M24/52C; M98/48; M48; M48A; M48B; M48BO; Syrian marked M48BO; Iraqi Jeem marked M48BO; M59 SKS; M59/66 SKS.
The M48B is the chalked M48A marked rifle. The B was meant to denote a rifle possessing a stamped trigger guard and possibly other parts and was only used for production/factory use, never as an actual rifle designation. What's interesting to note is my M24/52C has a serial number of "2" and is all matching, it is probably my favorite rifle. What is just as amazing is that both my Syrian and Iraqi marked rifles are both also all matching, which would be safe to consider an act of God considering what they have likely been through.
