Been looking at these lately. Dang expensive, for me anyway. Would likely be a carry knife, no specific purpose in mind. I know it's a beast.

Do I want one? Thoughts or experiences with them? The 350 looked like a winner until I saw them side by side. Love the 350 price point a lot better, though. šŸ˜„

Thanks for the insights.

The correct answer is to buy both!

Those models are great knives. Although I prefer the ZT manual flippers. They have a smoother action, flip just as fast, and are easier to close one handed.

The ZT 0300 is a beast, but not unwieldy to carry. I used to have one, regret selling it. They are spring-assisted, rather than flipper with a firm detent. They tend to command a premium these days.

My current beefy folder is the new Benchmade Adamas. I have both the mini and full size. Both are tanks and a joy to use with great blade steel.

I would ask yourself what you are wanting/expecting out of the knife (along with budget) as there are thousands of great options at that price point.

Really just a new EDC. I saw them online & liked what I read. Some folks complained about the size of the 300 vs 350. I hope I can find somewhere local to Raleigh that has both in stock.

If you like it, go for it. They are from a bygone era where ZT really focused on workhorse knives rather than lifestyle (although they seem to be coming back around). The recurve blade shape can be tricky to sharp if you aren't equipped to do so, and the assisted opening isn't for everyone. I believe it is also running on PB washers vs. ball bearings, which is a plus for some.

Again, if you are going to spend that kind of money on a knife, check out some of the other options from both ZT and other brands. The 0308 model for instance is another beefy folder, but a more modern design.

Found a 301 for sale on a knife forum. Should be here Thursday, if USPS does their part.
I'm pretty stoked to check it out!

ZT 301 is a must have and must use knife. The thing is build like a tank. You will not be disappointed

Just got the knife in the mail.
This thing is a BEAST!!!
I like it already. Smooth, fast to open, feels solid, sharp out of the gate (guy said still has factory edge).
Dang!

I'll give it a couple of weeks or so to see if it takes up too much pocket room. If it does, might have to snag the little bro, 350.

I appreciate all the advice and nudging towards getting it. No regrets.

Thanks guys!

I carry a ZT450 and love it. The flipper is super handy and the knife is all around great.

You did well with ZT

Amazon product ASIN B0080IYV3Q
Just picked up the little brother. Amazon had it discounted from retail around $35 (normally ~$188-ish).

Price has been fluctuating for a few days.

ETA: Not sure why the price is different on the pic. It's $153 when you click into it.

I like mine. Itā€™s a bit heavy but thatā€™s part of the appeal to me. Havenā€™t had an issue with any of my ZTā€™s.

Iā€™ve had a 0770CF (3.25ā€ blade) for a few years, very nice dress knife.

Iā€™ve been eyeballing a 0452CF (4.1ā€) for a few years. Picked one up recently, love it.
