Did you notice the 296 being louder than 1680? The reason I ask, I did a comparison of N-110 and H-110 in 44 mag for a Desert Eagle, and the H-110 was noticeably (I mean a LOT) louder than the N-110 loads, for the same velocity. It also had a much more noticeable muzzle-flash.Did some 9mm 147 gr suppressed testing with half dozen loads. Was “sure” that my titegroup loads would be quietest, but was really shocked to see ( or hear) that my win 231 (HP-38) loads were noticeably quieter than TG. testing used 2 different charge weights for each powder. Gun was a P30 with obsidian 9. Anyway I’ve now settled on 2 9mm loads: 1) 147 gr with win231 for suppressed use (quiet and just under 900 ft/s) and 2) 147 gr with Ramshot silhouette for max performance, easily breaking 1000 ft/s from my G17 or P30.

For those loading 300 blk, I did a bunch of comparisons between 296 and AA1680 with various bullet weights. Found AA1680 much more reliable in terms of ensuring cycling from the carbine length gas system. For pistol length gas I’d bet 296 works fine, but I was really impressed by the versatility of AA1680 in 300 blk for everything from 110 gr to 220 gr subs.

Normally I would prefer less flash/bang, but not for a Desert Eagle.
we went to the range today with these loads.
*these work in mine, my chamber is not sammi spec*
the 170gr berger EOL loads where 5 of each, 60.5gr, 61.5gr, 62gr.
5- 165gr ABLR, 61gr
5- 150gr VLD 61gr
all magpro powder
the ABLR actually shows a lot of promise which i was surprised.
minus the flyer, 61.5gr load showed the most promise on the bergers
the 150gr finally broke 3k
