2A Bourbon

Just got the good news. Thanks to you boys and many more like you, we have officially been accepted into the main abc warehouse in Raleigh.

There will be lots of logistics to work out but once things are sorted, our liquor can go straight from Kentucky to them and then to the stores near you. This should equal you being able to find bottles a whole lot easier and not have to special order anymore.

Thank you guys for all of your support.

And hopefully you get some of your life back, not bottling and labeling everything?!?

Lord willing! I say this as i have to be on call this weekend to go bottle 1200 more bottles as soon as the glass gets in, then case them up and send them out. This should be the last time though. If you are holding a bottle as a collector, the ones with "bottled in nc" on them will be the more rare bottles. Everything after this batch will be bottle in Kentucky.

Boss just got back from shot show and is in talks with lots of big manufacturers to make an armorer series with their logos on the bottle. He said most everyone he talked to was interested so be on the lookout for that eventually. Some of the names that he talked to were- sig, silencer shop, ruger, fn, winchester, beretta, magpul, glock, maxim defense, nighthawk and more.

I just heard a funny story. Our distributor in Florida was loading up 200 cases on a truck and somebody saw it and called homeland security. The driver got pulled over and had to open the trailer at gunpoint. They saw the cases and thought they had something. The driver told them to look in the cases and they all went crazy. Everybody laughing and taking pictures with the bottle and driver.

If you can get this turned into a press release pronto you might be able to get some free publicity from the press about the misunderstanding.

in the meantime, you can order online from 2abourbon.com and have it drop shipped to your door as long as you're not in an abc state.
So I just ordered a bourbon whiskey from a place in NV and it shipped right to my door. Is it because you guys are FROM North Carolina???

Yea people out of state can order online from 2abourbon.com and have it shipped to their door from Florida. I've heard people here have done it but i can't say to do it that way.

Good news is once we stock the main warehouse, all the abc stores can order it with their usual order and have it on the shelves. You won't have to special order anymore. While it doesn't sound big, we've been working for almost a year to achieve this so we're pretty happy.

Wait til this case gets to court.

The more I think about this, the more I can see a great commercial. Starts with “Based on a true story…”. Ends with the case of whiskey being brought into court, the judge sampling it, and finding the defendant guilty of good taste. Case dismissed.

That's almost exactly what the boss is thinking. I believe he's reaching out to @JBoyette about it.

So who is “guilty” in that case? The NC resident who ordered and had delivered, or the people who sold it into NC?

If I go through the 2A website and try to buy, their vendor website lists NC as a no-ship state.

But then I get emails from them begging me to come finish my order. In the email it says this:

After 20 minutes of searching, the local ABC store was able to find both the reload and case editions on the special order list. They're supposed to call me back by Wednesday with their price so I can come in and pre-pay. Going to order two cased versions, one for me, and one for my FIL who is a huge bourbon nut whose entire dining room is stacked floor to ceiling with the stuff.

The code 66-724 is for a single bottle in the gun box.

Product code 66-723 is called a reload. It is only a bottle. They usually make you order a case (which is 6 bottles) at a time.

Is the 6 bottle minimum just for the reloads?

Yes. The bottle in the gun box come individually.

The reloads are 6 packs. Some stores will order and sell singles. It's up to them individually.

Hopefully now that we are getting into the main warehouse, we can change things a bit and make it easier for customers in the future.

Let me know if you need to order more to get your order completed. I can have you allocate a reload bottle to me. The rest of the lunch crew might be able to round out the rest of the 6.

I'm at the New Hanover ABC now...
They found the sku 66-724 (w/case)
Sold out fast!

What is sku for just the bottle?
Trying to order some.

Thanks!
Rob

66-723 is for the "reload" which is a 6 pack of bottles. Make sure they will sell you a single out of that case.

We are shipping to the warehouse today so orders should be able to be filled much quicker from now on with a lot less effort on the customer's part.

Thank you!
Manager checked the system.
None local or Raleigh.

She looked up sales history and was surprised how fast 2A sells out!

Went in to prepay today for 2 cases, and for 40 minutes they couldn’t find it in the computer again. He looked a different way and it’s now showing none in stock for shipment :(

I'm sorry about that, we loaded up the warehouse so as soon as it shows in their system they will be available

Any idea about how long that takes? Will shoot back down there as soon as I know it’s there!

I don't as this is the first time we are going straight through the main hub. I do know that once they have it in their system, the stores will all have it on their books. No more requesting special orders anymore.

We sent the order to them yesterday at 2pm. If anybody notices in stock or has a store report it in their books, please report here so we know.

The Woke County inventory site has been down for a few days.

I walked into the Sandy Fork Rd. Location yesterday (Friday) around 2:45pm and walked out with a Reload bottle. Was the last I saw on the shelf though.

I seem to recall seeing 3 other locations in the county who had them earlier in the week though (North Hills rings a bell as to having a few of them).

Thanks you for supporting and reporting. We have been hearing that their system goes down quite a bit. Either way it will be faster that having to special order through that same system. They want to move inventory through their warehouse a lot more than they want to process special orders through individual companies like ours. Hopefully things smooth out.

As an aside. The bossman paid extra to pick the oldest barrels that were in stock at the distillery for this new batch so this should be aged slightly more and have a tad more character... if that matters to anybody.

I spoke to a cop today who works sometimes in the ABC system (inspections, fraud, etc). He said a person can order a bottle shipped direct to their front door for personal consumption in NC. You can’t resell it. And there is a max amount—but he couldn’t recall the number. This is true for out of state and in state spirits.

If that's true, it makes sense why people have been reporting ordering from Florida and having it delivered with no issues. Thank you for sharing that info. Bottles are flying online. I think somewhere around 4000 bottles in 4 months.

Stopped at 2 Brunswick Co ABC's this morning. Each said that they couldn't find using: 66-723 & 66-724

New Hanover Co couldn't find 66-723 but found this with 66-724 (see pic)

Can anyone suggest a Florida Liquor seller that will ship to NC?

For some reason, I've become obsessed with finding/trying. :)

I'll have to check on that. Before we got into the warehouse it had to be "special ordered" with those codes. The words special order were very important. Now that's not supposed to be the case. They might not have us in the system yet as we just sent the first stocking order to the warehouse Friday at 2pm. I have no idea how long it takes them to enter it into their system. Hopefully not long, but knowing them....

Got a bottle from the southern Person county store today. They had several bottles and at least 2 cases. Mr.Bggs answered a few questions I had before buying, he seems like a very good representative for the company. Thanks

Edit, this is probably not feasible but airplane bottles with something like a .22 short on the bottle cap would be awesome lol.

He is looking into different sizes, bottles are kind of a pain right now. Shortages everywhere. Luckily we stocked up on our 750 ml bottles so we can ride out the supply problems. We are looking into it though.
