When I carried Glock 19s, and I did, I carried 2. Same with revolvers...on the Demonstrable issue, when will you be coming to Battery Oaks to do this demo? We usually have a good crowd on Sundays, the more to be demoed to the better. In my best Doc Holiday voice...Say When.
Thanks very much for the invite, and I really wish I could come down and meet you, but it's a long drive for me and it's not realistic. I don't have to demo anything for you, though, since I know you're a daily shooter with your own range. If you want to try shooting an LCP in your support hand only after applying a little baby shampoo (a very rough simulation of blood) to the hand and gun, and then run the test again with a Glock 19 and a S&W 19, I don't think it'll take too many rounds to start seeing the differences in the number of malfunctions per gun. I'm talking in this thread about the reliability of small autoloaders in the context of personal defense, so worrying about one-handed or wounded shooting seems pretty relevant to me, as would firing from compromised positions, and other such unfortunate matters.
My LCP runs just about perfect when I'm standing still on the range, have the gun clean and lubed, and have a solid grip. Start messing around with those conditions and things can get a bit shady. My CZ P07, on the other hand, is almost impossible to make malfunction. (If you get something to block the hammer from reaching the firing pin, you can shut that gun down, but otherwise it just laughs at you.) I carry the LCP when I have to, and I trust the gun to work properly, unless things get really ugly--as long as I do my part with maintenance and such. I wouldn't want it to get dry and linty. In another recent threat I said that I clean up my carry P07 about once a month or so. If I carried an LCP every day, I'd probably clean and lube it weekly, just to be sure. That's me.
I'm not saying anything here about your carry choices. That's you. If your LCP Max passes your personal test for carry viability, I trust your vetting process was solid and have absolutely nothing to say about it at all.
