Talk to me about this.
Can I just change the barrel on a 308 and use the magpul AICS mags?

6Dasher is probably the best on barrel life of the 6 wildcats.
I want a lighter recoiling 1k yard capable round.
Xc will do it but it won’t be low recoil like the dasher. The guy I know who shoots it said it’s like the win mag of the 6mm’s. Maybe 6mm ARC? Or just go 6 creedmoor and put a nasty brake on it?

Why not a 6GT so that you can use regular AI mags and not have to fire form brassHmm, Dasher might be the better way to go
@Joker00
So what I know is, I want to run a 6mm bolt gun, and use my Bergara HMR in 308.
So taking that in consideration, would it better to just send it to Bergara and pay them 600 bucks to change the barrel to 6mm CM?
The only gripe I have with the rpr is that you are stuck with the platform. You can change the forearm and switch out the buttstock but still feels like the same rifle still. Not much to make it your own. Bergara you have the choice of all the makers of stocks and chassis for the 700. Just my opinion
So, here’s an option I’m looking hard at:
Ruger Predator 6mm Creedmoor, Oryx Chassis, and Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56 MRAD
Once the barrel is killed, switch to a LRI or equivalent.
I’ve got one in 308. It’s a shooter. Mines in a magpul hunter stock. MDT makes a chassis for it too I think

So now the question is, which action should I build off of.

Sample size of 1 but this would make me avoid the how’s unless I wanted to rebarrel it

The savage elite precision rifle is a hell of a deal. Can find it for 1500. It comes in an mdt acc chasis that sells for 1k alone. I just got one and it looks like it is going to be a tack driver.
One word of advise if you go creedmoor and get small primer brass you will need to get the firing pin bushed. Small primer brass last longer when reloading. But the 308 bolt head will blank it even at factory loads. It is designed for large primer brass.

Thanks!!! Sorry about thatNothing to do with dies. The firing pin and the spacing around it in a 308 bolt is too big. It does this.
