After Night of Drinking, F.B.I. Supervisor Wakes to Find a Woman Stole His Gun

Jeepers I love the I'm a free man and can spend my money on guns, beer and booty if I want. But you work for the government for any reason and you have to clear that purchase with your boss first.

You're right. Since it's the government paying his salary, I shouldn't be concerned.

In July, Robert Manson, a unit chief in the F.B.I.’s international terrorism section, had his Glock .40-caliber handgun, a $6,000 Rolex watch and $60 in cash stolen from his room at the Westin hotel in Charlotte, N.C., according to a police report.

Re-read what I said.
I would question any extravagant luxury item if my tax dollars are paying his salary.

Your taxes are paying lots of peoples salary including teachers, bus drivers, cops, clerks, fbi, sbi, fire fighters, garbage men the list goes on. For all we know he was boinking Ebony Clarke. (lethal Weapon 4) I guess we need to see a report of how everyone spends their personal money.

Do you have to clear large expenses with your employer? I mean, he pays your salary...

The dude earns a salary and can spend it however he wants. Is it worth wondering what his salary is and then asking if it's reasonable? Sure thing. And the $140K salary for his level seems reasonable. Is it worth wondering if he collects money through unsavory means through abusing his position? Sure thing. But unless/until we see some evidence, let's not hang the guy based on random suspicion.

Learn your theory of economics in a government school did ya?

Sure he can spend it how he wants. And every paycheck I see with taxes being extracted from it, I'm going to wonder when I read stories like this.

If they're all wearing $6,000 Rolex watches then just maybe my taxes are a bit too high.

What in the world does you paying taxes have to do with what he does with his money? I agree I think taxes are to high but last I checked he pays taxes as well. I have no problem with people spending their money on something nice. Be glad he at least is earning his tax payer money and not claiming disability.

My neighbor got drunk and lost his virginity. I asked him to come in, have a seat, and talk about it since he seemed really upset about it. He said, with a tear on his cheek: “I can’t sit down”

The only time I’m not pissed about having to pay taxes is when....ummm...hold on.....let me think.....I know there’s a time.....dang....nope I’m always pissed about paying taxes.

You're right. It's no different than someone using their EBT to buy beer. After all, a government check is the same as earning in the private sector. I'll just shut up and keep paying my taxes.

Guy comes home from work and his wife is pissed, she says to their son "tell him what happened in school today" Son, "I got laid by the teacher". Dad says, "Thats's my boy, are you going to get laid again tomorrow son?" Boy says, "I don't know daddy my butt is still pretty sore."

And on the list that goes on, and on, and on is bureaucrats, popo unions, planned parenthood, the IRS, TSA, DOE (and every other federal and state agency). If all of yours were privatized, those on my list would wither and die.

Theft. Just say no.

Edited to correct misquoting da cowboy (left out the Y in first word by mistake).

Then you get the second tier of tax payer supported professionals engineers, paving crews, and place that takes EBT, utilities the list literally goes on and on.

Muh ROOOOOAAAAADDDDDSSSSS!

Having worked the entire spectrum of that industry, from pushing a lute to research & design, I can say unequivocally, that privatizing all of it will produce better and more economical product outside the state's perverting influence.

The state only spends money. Money that is taken by force. And produces nothing. A parasite that deserves nothing but its subjects' scorn.

I thought a lute was a little harp like thing?

So let's say I organize a group of people together and canvass the neighborhood- giving people a list of things I will do for them.

But first, they have to give me 30-40% of their property. I threaten, errr, "remind" them failure to comply will result in kidnapping them, locking them in a cage, seizing their property (plus more, because penalties and interest), stealing their children and placing them in my custody "for their protection," or kill them if they resist.

We then use the property thus taken from some to compensate others to back up our threats through violence. To be sure, we give them a high-minded oath to convince them that they're the good guys, and anyone refusing to give us their property are criminal low lifes, dangers to the very functioning of society.

We also make it a point to remind the population we're taking from that these men and women who make them comply are all that stands between them and utter chaos, without whom thuggery, banditry, theft, and violence will consume them.

So - if me and a handful of other citizens did that - would the compensation we provide the muscle to enforce our rules be "his or her own money" or would it be possession of stolen property?

In the days of the much despised J. Edgar Hoover his ass would have been gone so fast it would have taken a week for him to catch up with it. Folks, when you have problems like this they start at the top. They won't fire him because"he's so good at what he does" and/or "he's a really great guy" and/or he really takes care of the people who work for him (maybe part of the problem)".
As far as the Rolex goes, my wife bought me one almost 25 years ago after I retired by taking money out of her paycheck every week for a year and a half. The fact that he had one doesn't surprise me. That he had the cojones to report it stolen does surprise and disappoint me. The caliber of the man also disappoints me. I've worked in hellholes where the only thing to do after hours was go out to the whore houses. I didn't go. I stayed back where we slept and read case reports or whatever else was available. In retrospect, I think that was largely due to an intense fear that I might bring an unexpected present home to my wife rather than any nobility of purpose.
The other thing that worries me is how much this jerk shot his mouth off about his job and his current assignment.

Sounds like Mister Fibbie is a bad apple. But, I have so little faith in "official accounts" these days, let's just say there could be more to the story. Not rushing to defend him, but what if he had some dirt on higher senior personnel, up to and including Comey & Mueller? First thing such career swamp-dwellers like them would do is impeach the would-be witness in the public eye. A scandal would be just the ticket.

What if senior leadership only gets to BE senior leadership after they've been compromised via scandal...and folks like the Podestas have material with which to keep said "senior leadership" firmly on the reservation and dedicated to the swamp?

How does an FBI agent, supervisor or otherwise, afford a $6,000 Rolex?

I could. If I wanted. It's a question of fiscal priorities and budgeting.

Who wants to bet that this woman turns out to be a hooker?

Wouldn’t it be great if the woman he spent the night with was a hooker, but the wife came in an took his stuff while he was in the shower.

Wouldn't it be funny as hell if the BOLO that's been issued is useless, is because she is really a he and the info the G-man gave out is intentionally wrong...

New BOLO issued....Be On the Look Out for a woman w/ 5-O'Clock shadow, Adam's Apple and Bulge in mini-skirt!!

excellent idea. I say we call that federal dept, Individual Report of Spending

There is at least one of The Alphabet Agencies that track / monitor us citizens purchases, etc, and I believe it is the "CFPB."

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

The CFPB's creation was authorized by the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodd–Frank_Wall_Street_Reform_and_Consumer_Protection_Act
To some extent Elizabeth Warren was involved as well.

In any case, sure the NSA has all the records.

This kind of behavior is/has been the norm for these guys for a long time. The AG needs to do a strong and thorough purge of this and other upper echelon agencies its very unbecoming for guys in this realm to behave like this. It just shows how corrupt the system is. How does people like this earn the respect of regular citizens?

They Don't.
