Another school shooting. Florida High School.

I was listening to the Gallegher radio program yesterday. He had some dude on from an out fit called Upstate New Yorkers Against Gun violence, or some such thing.
Well the guy starts going off on AR15's. The usual military weapons of war stuff, but then he says something extra stupid;
"No-one hunts with AR15's or target shoots with them."

Just what the hell does he think is being done with them then? The most popular rifle in the United States, and no-one uses them? We're just sitting on them waiting for the Redcoats?
I tried calling the show but couldn't get through. Busy. I imagine the lines lit-up after that retarded statement. I wanted to say that while it's admirable that Mike was trying to take everyone to school by presenting an opposing viewpoint, he made a wrong turn with the bus and ended up on a dead end road. These anti's don't want a dialogue, they want an audience. One that sits there and shuts up and does as their told.
 
I haven't read this whole thread, so forgive me if I am repeating the obvious. Has anyone postulated that perhaps our politicly weaponized version of the FBI chose to actively ignore the warning signs that were evident regarding the shooter with the hopes of helping to advance an anti-gun agenda?

Kind of funny that on another forum when a few of those libtards started with their Pavlovian drool of the usual tropes I pretty much stated something to the effect of lets talk about the demise of the family and the rise of "liberal" values and then said they need to shut up about gun control.

I've heard that the interwebs are full of theories that this was another false flag. This time to distract the media and the public from the FBI's bad behavior.
 
While I am joining in on the trashing of public schools, my daughter just texted me to ask for help. She need to debate why a minority cannot be racist. A nice left wing wacko, social justice argument.

Oh, and this is in an AP Spanish Class. WTF? Indoctrination machine is what the public schools are.

I don't buy it. Have you met many of the agents in the field? Most of those guys are good to go. It's the leadership in DC that is so politicized and weaponized. So, I don't think they were actively ignoring it. That isn't to say I don't know if there wasn't some incompetence.

I would tend to agree it is either incompetence due to the hiring of people that fit a political profile over the years, or possibly they get so many of these tips they tend to ignore them unless something makes it really stand out.

But we did have Fast & Furious so there is always a possibiltiy. Maybe the FBI guys in that area are left wing wackos with an agenda.

And yet, we still don't know what the hell happened in Vegas.

Well if you didn’t choose to live in the county of ignorance you wouldn’t have had that problem. I guess you know about a dozen years ago Burke County was on probation to lose their accreditation and ablitity to give diplomas because the school board was so disfunctional. Jeez, just make better decisions about location and the school issue will get better.

The FBI does not have the man power to track down every stupid thing that is posted on the net. They have to prioritize all threats. Don't confuse the political crap in D.C. with the field agents. I have met and worked with a lot of agents over the years and they were nothing but professional.

It has been reported that the shooter was previously reported to the school, the cops, and to the FBI. You seem to infer I was somehow impugning field agents. That was not my intent. I would fully expect, as I posted above, that anything nefarious would be orchestrated at much higher levels than field agents.

Remember Im near Philly....my neighbor who was nearing retirement, started "mentoring" students for 6 months prior to her retirement date so she could get a 40% bump in her pension....its criminal!! My father got "pulled" into a union when a literal company takeover happened and they tossed his redneck ass after he was injured; He was not active in their "rallys" or other political "activities" so therefore was considered expendable. Guess who the "political rallys" were for????

Can't figure out what gives them the right to be so full of their selves, one of their quotes was, why does anyone need an ar15 to hunt? Wouldn't a shotgun be Better, obviously expert hunters

Yes. If I was hunting Rosie at short range, I would prefer a shotgun with slugs and maybe a red dot. Those fattys can be surprisingly quick when full of adrenaline.

Or they could just youtube search "hunting with an AR15". Or they could STFU and read the clause in the Constitution, the part that mentions "hunting"

Never about a real solution, just about their solution. They will sacrifice whoever they have to in order to achieve it. We are all expendable for our own good.
 
I'm not interested in the anti-gun rants of the type of people who are so involved with virtue signaling and posturing about their "causes" that they probably happily drugged their own children into docile little zombies rather than actually parenting.

Show me where the vast majority of perpetrators in mass shootings were not seriously drugged and I will consider revising my opinion.

When the typical politician meets with a group, it usually means the politician is indicating agreement with the group's agenda.

When Trump meets with a group, it means he will listen to the group. The media is absolutely appalled that Trump can meet with a group and then disagree with the group.

So what that the FBI was notified? What were they supposed to do? Go in, kick his door in, drag him to prison and say "We are arresting you because of a possible threat you made on a social media site"? There have been numerous times on this site and the old Canadian site that people have said some pretty enflamatory things, and it is usually backed by a banhammer. But the post was made. Was the FBI called? Was the police notified? How many times have we been reading FB threads and we see people post things like "I wish a MF'er would!" do we immediately call the cops and say "this guy is looking for trouble? Or how many times have you personally been threatened with words over the internet? Have you called the police and demanded they storm in guns blazing to arrest the bad guy? I don't play online games anymore, but there are kids >all the time< threatening to kill each other (and sometimes they do).

So what we are really saying with the "They were notified and should have done something" is that we think that internet threats need to be elevated to criminal. Where you can be arrested for threats, real or perceived, that are made over digital media.

Now, we have opened a new can of worms. What would then constitute "free speech" vs "Viable Tangible threat".

So yeah, the FBI was notified this kid was a whacko...I am pretty sure the FBI probably gets a few thousand messages a day about whackos now. They will not ever have the manpower to check out every single lead. Unless we start supporting them growing even larger than they are. Which would be a turn around in beliefs for most of us to suddenly support the bloating of a federal agency in order to monitor citizens speech on the internet.

In my opinion, the break down is at the school level. How did this kid even get in the school? If it was a main entrance, how was he buzzed in when he was known to be kicked out and banned? if he was let in, then there is an accomplice. If there are unmonitored entrances, then that's the schools security failing.

I agree that at a minimum secured entrtances to schools make sense. The last time I was in a school, I was guest of one of the teachers that I know, I had to wait for him to come and get me and bring me in the door which was key card access. I expect that this may be a bit difficult during ingress and egress times, but during those events other measures could be in place.

On the other hand, there is still the classical security paradox in that you can widen you security perimeter but the bad actor can always find a soft spot outside of it.
