That’s what I figured. Time to go check our fence line for obvious holes.

Fence isn’t gonna keep them out. They’ll climb it or jump it. I watched one clear a 5’ tall round bale the other night with a couple feet of space between the two.

Yote!!! Nice pelt too, that one has been eating well.

I found the hole where it dug in. We have two strands of hot wire running the top and the bottom. I probably need to move the bottom one down further. It’s pretty damn hot reading says 9k volts and when I was putting up a camera out front I leaned in to close and my hand and chest got tagged at the same time. It was a “amnesia almost shit himself hot”

Looks like a few of y’all may get an invite shortly.

Since I got my night vision set up and sighted in I want to kill a few here. Got the rifle out the other night just for giggles and scanned the field in front of my house and there was 5 coming out of the woods across the field about 500 yards away. They’re call shy and I’ve haven’t called them here in years . Even with just a mouse squeaker, they didn’t stick around long enough for me to get a safe shot.

I have a thermal scope you can borrow if you want to take some out.

CHRIS
Thanks! I have a pvs14 setup as I traded out the thermal I had.

You’re about 2 hours from me but you’re more than to come out and depending what you’re shooting ill supply the bullets, blind, seat, coffee, and a suppressor.

My gun isn’t threaded…. All the neighbors have been warned. Lady across the pond calls it my tank

I’m not expert, but when I can’t tell what a critter is I just go with Chupacabra and remain armed at all times. Shoot first, identify later.

Healthy looking Coyote.

This time of year young yotes are moving out seeking their own area....they call out to find each other/ stay out of a well established area......

I have tools for his elimination and they don’t involve ruining the fur. 😎

You'd have a blast around here. OPs yote problem is about 7 mileswest from me and theres a pack about 2 miles east from me. Feller down south of me near the SC border killed two last week and I see their tracks around the pond 300 yards from the house. I identified four distinct sets there, but no sight line, though 🙁

First you gotta get a cat......

I think the problem is starting here as well and I'm about 20min down the road. We've been hearing them at night and I've been out with my thermal, but haven't spotted anything, yet. They seem to pass through rather quickly, but often. I think our dog is spooking them off before I get to them. We have goats and I lose sleep over it. Been out at 3AM two nights now due to the dog going after something or my daughter hearing yapping.

Haven't actually seen the primary research but word has it that "coyotes" in the East are showing up with dna everwhere from grey wolf to german shepherd... I expect in a decade or two we'll have a new sub-species that both mates in pairs and eats acorns. Pretty cool stuff. Beautiful pelts too...
