BST-only posters?

Here's an idea...... 5 BST items a year unless you're a supporting member. Let's the casual user have full use of the forum and ensures the ones that most use the feature the most help support the site.

The problem with all of these "5 per year" "3 per month" "Minimum post counts" and all of these other ideas is that it takes man power to monitor them all. Now, they could have some software that monitors posts, but I would wager that much of that would have to be done "by hand". Meaning the mods would have to actively keep track of how many ads a member posts, how often they post them, and how long they have been active.

I still hold that even the "Im just here to sell stuff" people do little harm other than adding a few lines you have to scroll by. They >may< draw attention to the forum which leads to an increase in membership. At best, we all get the chance to buy more stuff. At worst they get banned for spamming the forums if they aren't following the bump rules, or prove to be untrustworthy through negative feedback.

I would prefer the mods be working on more critical things like server stability, finding more site sponsors that give us all sweet discounts, or just enjoying the creation and community they have helped build.

If 99.6% of what they post is BST, it’s easy to see: their # of posts, if their local to you, their trading rating and sales reviews.
A LOT easier than the mods counting posts.

I honestly don't care who, what, or how many bst posts there are, but for the love of all that is Holy, would somebody start giving negative feedback for not marking an ad sold...
That’s the main thing that always grinds my gears. Especially if there are two pages worth of posts on the thread due to people BSing and it doesn’t say it’s sold until the last one.

I always get stuck selling to the non-savvy tech guys who never post feedback for me.

I promise I've made some great sales!!!

I wouldn't say I am bothered by BST only guys, but I certainly don't trust them like I would a regular contributor. I've sold to a few of them and yes, they tend not to be as friendly, IMO.
