Bud Light is costing restaurants and bars millions

I was in WalMart last Saturday afternoon. I just happened to be near the beer coolers. 🙄 Bud and Bud Light coolers were fully stocked. All other brands were about half full. They had plenty of Lone Star and Shiner.
 
Overall, kinda a non-event. Folks inside an echo chamber have convinced themselves that they make a difference.

Edit: from the WSJ a few min ago “Bud Light sales dropped 17% the week of April 15 when compared to the same time last year, according to data reported by the Wall Street Journal. The drop comes in the wake of backlash against the brand's embrace of a transgender influencer.”

@Jeppo see edit above posted while you were responding. Not sure how it’ll play, tempted to short it, but the stock market is so disconnected from reality that sales might not matter.

Also, in the short term, the pain is probably being felt by independent distributors, retailers and bars. They bought the stuff and may be stuck with it. Not sure whether BUD will take it back for credit.

This, to a "T". IF we, meaning us regular folks that the MSM disdains, can keep it up, then it will start to hurt. They're scared now, but hoping we'll just forget about it. And so often we do. How many of y'all watch NFL games now?

Some of you will speak up that still don't, the rest of you will be silent.

I gave up the NFL and haven't watched a game since.

The left doesn't forget. The right just scratches their balls while saying, "Oh you just wait and see!"
 
“Youse all wicked nice guys” (mixture of New England and the south) might be right about short term pain or the price of AB stock not going down but my hard earned money is going elsewhere.
It might not make a difference in the universe but it will make me feel as if I’m doing something (even very small) to stand against cooperate political stupidity And wokism.

BTW. Does anyone remember the Arlo Guthrie song Alice’s Restaurant? He sang something about a group turning into a movement… if a group stops purchasing Bud Light it might make a little difference - even if they don’t admit it.

I was reading a story about it earlier today that said AB corporate is taking this very seriously. We all know about the two people that were replaced. Apparently they've also been having meetings with distributors trying to assure them that all future ads will be fully vetted. I guess the distribution guys are all panicked about being stuck with dead stock.

So we want to piss on the little guy for something out of their control? People drink BL, it's a well known, popular brand. Why WOULDNT they have stoked it before all of this mess?

Honestly, it'd be interesting to go back and see how much crap talking there was about such a horrible beer before March of 2023. I bet little.

You know noone is stopping you drinking the tyranny piss, right? I've been avoiding AB (except Stella Artois) since I got here, it's awful. Now Stella is ditched because I can choose what I want to consume based on what deviance the company is trying to shove down my throat/normalize.

Most bars don’t stock more than a weeks supply since they get a regular truck as do grocery stores, but distribution centers may feel a bite. I’m surprised how many people don’t know and/or care about the politics and continue to drink BL.

I never had Stella Artois until my first trip to France in 2013.

When I mentioned trying it to my French colleagues, I was laughed at.

"Ha ha. Stella Artois is the Budweiser of France."
