Anyone in CFF build (not assemble) there own firearms?
I've always thought there should be a clearer distinction between the two.

Even the guys building $8,000 custom 1911’s are usually starting from a base gun. That's what I'm referring to. Starting from nothing. An idea, and material, then making it.

Sounds like an introduction is in order. Tell us what you build. So its rare to start from nothing and build a one off. Its just a very unique right the laws allow. I'd think more people would take the opportunity. I like doing it and just wondered if there were people in this area that also do. I've only been in NC for about 6 years.

Haha just wrong tool for the job. The titanium was very unkind to that slitting saw. Had to use what was in the shop. It's just a scratch. Probably buff right out.

Also just so you understand when a custom part seems like an absurd amount of money, that 1 piece of 3 1/2 inch diameter of Ti costs about $1200-$1400 per foot before it even starts getting worked.View attachment 234008
