Coincidences, Karma, whatever you want to call it.
I think its funny and interesting how things work out sometimes.
As many on here know, Im a high school educator. One of the perks of my job is about 2 months free each year in the summer. Pretty rad. But its also two dang months of not much to do.
I'll mow/yard work. I'll do a little stuff school related that I can also translate into sales on my TpT site (teachers pay teachers). I'll meet with friends. I'll do more exercise. Read more, too. Oh, and I'll take a 5-7 day vacation each summer, my one vacay of the year.
But, man, how much is there really to do? When youre broke there isnt a lot you can do.
I get cabin fever in the house, so I look for reasons to get out of the house on the cheap (I like coffee, thats my go-to).
So yesterday, returning from getting coffee in High Point I got to thinking, "I got to find something to do, and extra money would be good...wonder who I can call to ask for a job a few days a week...like sweeping floors, errands, whatever."
Not an hour later I get a random text...precisely that. A few days a week driving a truck.
Coincidence?
Karma for not being a total jerk?
I dont know, I'd like to think the karma one, personally.
But I met with my new boss today, someone I've known for years through hardcore/metal shows, and later seeing at gun shows. Someone near and dear to all of our hearts. A big beast of a man, Dan.
I look forward to meeting a new coworker tomorrow, another member here.
Im really excited about this opportunity and wanted to share with my friends on this site. Just odd how things work out sometimes.
