Some churches may be better served by a few “Watchers” like MacEntyre mentioned above. I’d rather have 3 guys you can trust to make mature, calm decisions than a whole team of Tackleberrys !
Your team should never set or enforce Church policy; no matter how much they may want you to. Advise them if they ask, be a resident expert, but policy needs to come from full-time Church staff.
Of course, times have changed.
Luke 22:36 He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.
Lots of different interpretations of this word from Jesus. I sorta prefer to take it at face value.
Our team is identified as a Safety Team I believe because of some of the previously mentioned statements. There have been no request for church members to not carry concealed or open carry. I feel sure that we have some members that would be against firearms in God's house.
I had a guy trade in a CZ10 that he didnt "need" for a LCP II in .380 today at the shop.... He bought a sticky holster to put it in, you know, "cause I can use it at church". Friday, guy buys a full size Ruger American and an Uncle Mikes shoulder holster for concealed carry at church. *sigh*.
I have an LCPII for “deep concealment” which these days translates to “nearly never”. I like the trigger for what it is compared to the other wee .380’s I’ve owned and sold, but the sights really do suck and as a result I can’t hit the inside of a barn with it. Even just point shooting, so it just stays locked up now.I had a guy trade in a CZ10 that he didnt "need" for a LCP II in .380 today at the shop.... Two seperate individuals. It was just odd they came in the same day.Sooooo.... he’s gonna carry both?
PM me the info please. We just had Cary PD come in and do a two hour presentation, and they did a great job. In fact the corporal who did the presentation also runs security for a church I am familiar not far from me in Apex/Holly Springs, so that was really helpful.
If you are in Cary I can share his info.
