My Glock 19 G5 is not an MOS, does anybody will a regular slide for the MOS system? I thought about getting another upper, but it just about a $100 more for a whole new gun.
I was thinking that as new tech with red dots come along the footprint is going to change, I don't want to be locked to one size. I was looking at using the plate system.I would not mill a slide for the MOS system unless you’re planning on using after market plates. The MOS system is not that great and there a more than a couple advantages to milling a slide for a specific footprint.
That’s a good point but I don’t see rmr footprint going out style anytime soon.I was thinking that as new tech with red dots come along the footprint is going to change, I don't want to be locked to one size. I was looking at using the plate system.
I have done that for p80 builds but for my factory glocks, I try to keep everything as OEM as possible for reliability.Another option, just to throw it out to you, is to buy a slide from Brownells or the like, and build it for a swap, and can keep one stock.
It's tempting but, I a new Gen5 slide is just a little bit less than a new pistol.Another option, just to throw it out to you, is to buy a slide from Brownells or the like, and build it for a swap, and can keep one stock.
Are you saying I should or should not mill my OEM slide? It's tempting but, I a new Gen5 slide is just a little bit less than a new pistol.
That sounds like a good reason to buy a new gun, I think...It's tempting but, I a new Gen5 slide is just a little bit less than a new pistol.
Not, sure, I'm in the same boat as you. Trying to decide if I want to mill the OEM slide or get a new slide. Are you saying I should or should not mill my OEM slide?
