Help me pick a Glock

Glock 19 and Glock 43 are my EDC. Glock 19 primary weapon and the Glock 43 is backup weapon. Carrying spare magazine and one in the chamber I have 31 rounds with the Glock 19, carrying a spare magazine and one in the chamber I have 15 rounds with the Glock 43 (I use the plus one magazine extensions) for a grand total of 46 rounds of 9mm (The .45 guys are going to bash me about needing so many rounds lol). Keeping the same manual of arms between my primary and backup is important to me. Looking at my name you see I'm just a Average Joe so I have to keep things simple!!!

I like the Glock 19 as the primary for the following;
1. Light weight
2. Magazine capacity
3. Concealability (not sure thats a real word but you know what I mean)
4. Comfortable to carry
5. Accurate
6. Easy to maintain

I like the Glock 43 for a backup for the following;
1. Light weight
2. Concealibility
3. Comfortable to carry
4. Accurate
5. Same manual of arms as my primary weapon
6. Easy to maintain

Forgot to mention the holster selection is incredible. No problems finding something that will fit you and will be comfortable.

I am going to go against the grain and say get a Glock 19, but only in a kweer color like mine:
That is the gheyest combo of operator tactical tupperware and chrome-plated sissy pistol I've ever seen... ;-p

Screw you Phil! It's not as ghey as your dog.

If you just had one Glock, I'd get a 19. I rotate between a 19 and 43 for carry and I keep a 17 with a TLR-1 as my nightstand gun.

Oh and I would get a Gen4 if I were you. More options to make it fit your hand, the mag release is way better that a gen 3, and they all come with 3 mags.

haha i cant wait to see where this goes

I tried a 26 also. It didnt conceal any easier to me than the 19, plus I like the sight radius of the 19 over the 26. I carry AIWB, and the short barrel length of the 26 seemed to poke the grip out away from my body more than the 19. These are the reasons I like the 19 over the 26. JMO.

Glock 19, I can hook you up on a new one for a really good price. No one mentioned Gen 3 versus Gen 4 though and that might be some of the OP's original confusion. I prefer Gen 3 myself for my carry gun.

Exactly what he said!
G19 all day long!

Go ahead and get you a 30sf or 29sf. Everybody knows 9mm is for girls. Hahahahaha

G23. ;)

That way you can shoot .40, .357 and 9...just swap the barrel and mag.

I agree the G23 is the most versatile with barrel swap ability. You usually can find G23 police trade in pretty cheap also.

I was going to say get a 32 because 357 sig is the best round ever and you can swap to 40 and 9 with barrels and mags. But I did not want peoples heads to explode ;)

Like most have said, the G19. One of the best available. If you want something lighter go with the G43.

No doubt about it .357 Sig is a smoking round! I don't have issues with the .40 S&W, .357 Sig or the .45. As long as you put the bullet where it needs to go all of them work. I suffer from the no ass-at-tol disease and the 9mm is nice an light so my pants don't fall down lol!

Ok, let me throw an wrench into the discussion.

Why just Glock?? What about some of the other manufacturers like S&W, Springfield, Sig just to name a few. Have you considered any of these other fine options??

I have quite a few other mnufacturer's. Just wanting something different. Glock has a religious following. Seeing what the fuss is about.

Good point Shawn. From what I've read I'm thinking Gen4 Talo with ameriglo sights.

Did anyone suggest a G19 yet? If not, you should look at the G19, made by Glock. It's a vurry good hand gun and vurry popular in Mt. Airy.

I own a G19 and a 43. I carry them interchangeably depending on what I am wearing and what I feel like carrying. I own a lot of handguns, but I shoot the hell out of my 19 just because it is the most fun to shoot and the most accurate (below my Wilson - they make a blind man look good shooting) - or I am the most accurate with it I should say.

If I had to pick 1, it would be the 19.

If I had to get rid of all my handguns and only keep one - it would be a cold day in hell - but I would keep the 19.

As far as holsters - I like black dog concealment minimalist hybrid and stealth gear usa. I went through a metric S-ton ... you have to find what is right for you.

Don't write off 10mm. For a few more ounces and a couple more millimeters here and there, you can get magnum-caliber performance in a semi-auto. My G29 is by far my favorite carry gun, and I carry a G20 magazine in a horizontal mag pouch, so I've got 31 rounds on me. That's 31 rounds of 180gr, 1400+ fps, engine block busting, windshield shattering, bone crushing, body armor hammering goodness. You know...just in case you're ever attacked by a jihadi in a vehicle wearing body armor.

I like all of my Glocks however I have yet to get one in 9mm. I have a 21, 22, 23 and 27. I can say that I am partial to the frame size of the 23. I would like to get my hands on a 43 and try it out.

Why the Gen 3 over the 4 for a carry gun? I'm new to all of this.

I have ameriglos on two glocks and I am very happy with those sights.

Idot on G42 and the Hackathorns on my G19.

Re: Glock 9mm, I posted this wretched clench (with respect to the Shade of JRR Tolkien) on a site-not-to-be-named some time ago:

Three G34's for competitive shooters under the sky,
Seven G43's for CHP holders in their deep cover zone,
Nine G17's for those doomed outside of an MOA to fly,
One G19 for the Glock Lord on his Glock throne
In the Land of Glock, where the handguns lie.

One 9mm to rule them all, one 9mm to find them,
One 9mm to bring them all and on the Range to bind them
In the Land of Glock, where the handguns lie.

Everybody knows 9mm is for girls. Hahahahaha

To borrow the words of Dolly Parton in the film "9 to 5": that 9mm will "change you from a rooster to a hen with one shot!" ;)

Did someone say 10mm? But in all honesty only if you reload. Factory 10mm is the same velocity as 40 cal because we live in a sissy society of limp wristers... :D

Or there is Underwood 155 gr xtp. 1500 fps and 774 ft lbs. Not too shabby

Gen 2 or 3 is just a personal preference over the new design of the Gen 4. I'm not a Gen 4 guy. Purely personal preference; try both and make your own call.
